Couldn't agree more !

Wearing a premium watch every day does not make it such. Many perceive calling a YG watch "beater" as ....................................

How is it so pristine? Are you constantly polishing?

Well, luckily the nickname "bruiser" faded away. Maybe "beater" will, too.

Totally agree the 16618 or 16808 are beautiful with the blue face. I just fell in love with the black face 1680/8 last week My father in the early 80's got a gift from a Saudi prince the 16808 and it was engraved on the case back from him. I grew up looking at my dads watch and it was always beautiful to me. Last year I got me a 16608 blue and wore it for a month and I overheard someone saying that I am trying to fill his shoes and copy him so I went to a YG YM2 to be different and represent me.

The exact reason I will never buy the YG GMT! (Mentor not father but don't want the copy accusation!)

You can use your YG Rlex as a beater as long as you can afford to replace it on the spot

My TRF mentor, Mike, had a YG GMTc around the time I started posting here seriously, and a couple of years later I bought one too. Fast forward a few years later and I bought a YG Blue Subc and then Mike got one too. Just shows all things come full circle and we can all enable and even copy each other. Yes and you may yet convince me to get a 5711r.

I was just fishing...for...padi56 and such. If you throw out baits like "gold", "insert", "value", "appreciation", "ceramic", etc. They'll bite.

Of course a YG isn't a beater watch. It is just - doh - a watch.

But - having said this, I still feel that a YG Submariner is cool as hell to wear. Cool because some don't care, some do care - and the funny part is that the former group / population ain't interested in watches at all. The latter group is often on watch forums. That is a tad ironic. :)

The only time I see people worrying about Rolex gold not holding up well are those that are considering buying one. I can't recollect an owner saying it is anything other than durable. Amazing picture.

And here it is - beating 8 times pr. second - but captured using a shutter speed too short to show it. But - a beater - it still is. :)

Refreshing. Someone who doesn't keep their Rolex in a safe away from mosquito farts to preserve the top few microns of finish.
