Opinions please? I say fake. Can someone please point out the differences in these between real and fake.

I think it's OK. Look how your "7" drops a little lower ...

as the one in the pic which is 100% authentic. Yours is either authentic or an extremely good replica. End pieces look different, though I've seen different variations.

Greekbum...mines 100% real. 7206 stamp looks identical. even the dropped "7". Of ...

course only a picture and not the feel in your hands and you would be hard pressed to tell the difference...other than the end piece which does look different. Actually, when you hold and look at both in your hands there is a difference in the metal texture.

Heres some more pics of the FAKE band for reference just in case you get offered 1.
I still want someone to show me how to tell a real from a fake on these as this band is very good.

There also appears to a lot of scarring on the inside of the links which seems odd. That's the part that is least likely to get beat up unless it was stored wrapped around a rock.

...mmmmmm...

...I am sure "springer" can shed some light on these as well.

...first, to ME, ALL pic's thus far appear to be genuine representations.

...I have handled many of the 7206 bands thru the years, and never seen a fake one.

...I have seen BOTH style end pieces with the 2 variants of the # 80, both straight stamped and angled stamped. I have felt that BOTH are genuine.

...FACTS:
a) the 7206 (regardless of end piece) is a FIXED LINK band, NO exceptions.
b) the 6636 (regardless of end piece) is an EXPANSION, spring loaded link, band.

...the 7206 pictured above, MAY have had someone add springs to the band sometime during it's life. (I have actually had a few people ask me to do it, but have respectfully declined to do it.)

...the 6636, expansion link, is a VERY RARE band. The 7206 is much more common and available than the 6636.

...unless the coronet on the folding clasp is questionable, and unless I am missing it here in the above pic's, these appear to be otherwise GENUINE, notwithstanding the springs in the center links of the one band.

...as far as marks on the skin side of the band, this can be explained EITHER by the addition of the springs to the band OR the tightening of the center links. It is all but impossible to tighten the center links without leaving some marks to the under side of the links when tightening. Sometimes the tools "skip" across the metal when performing this resulting in scratches or small indents in the metal. You would not believe the amount of pressure needed to pull the center links back together.

...to ME, the ONLY thing that may be questionable is the SPACING of the 8 and 0, as they seem to be touching in the one pic.

...hope this helps.

The level of fakes have changed and yes the pics I posted are from a fake band.I have seen alot of near mint or NOS 7206 for sale and I suspect the source is the same.

...Nikos, thanks for the PM.

...based upon what you have PERSONALLY shared with me, the band in question is MOST LIKELY a counterfeit, despite the APPARENT correctness, other than the springs and the 8 and 0 spacing.

...it would sure be nice to loupe the crown on the coronet on the folding clasp and the area between the prongs of the crown on the buckle.
