Black Daytona or Submariner
Does anyone have a blacked out Rolex? I'm looking to pick up a Daytona or a Submariner and having blackoutconcepts or Bamford and wanted to know if anyone on the forum has had experience with a DLC/Blacked out watch and knows how well they hold up over time?

They are looked upon with very little favor here.
A big disadvantage is that Rolex will not service them. |

Personally i do not like the look, but go for it if you like it,. However, be prepared to take a hit if you want to resell...

I think it would be good if it was one of the many watches in your collection. They are even going with some gray color and variations off black. When I see them for sale from blackout concept or Bamford is really really expensive. When I see other DLC PVD jobs done I feel like it wears off and is not the same quality as blackout concept or Bamford.
I feel like I saw a picture of a blacked out GMT on Perlon straps and it look pretty hot. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk |

Not a fan, but I can see the appeal. How about an IWC or a Panerai black edition?

Nice to have something different if you have the money to burn.

GMT looks great by bamford. I think if I'm after an all black watch I'd look at the omega DSOM.

I think a Sub woud look better blacked out. It's more tough looking. The Daytona is more of a sleek watch, its smooth shiny finish compliments it.

I can't see a blacked out Rolex as being an improvement.
Especially at night.

I like the look of a blacked out Daytona. The depreciation after the process is something my little capitalistic mind can't handle though.
Since it is your watch. Do what ever brings you joy. ;) |
