A guy at the deli counter at my local store said he was going to help me next because I had on a nice Omega.

I was wearing my Tudor Black Bay. But hey, I bought some good chicken salad.

I actually like it. I tried it on at the AD and pictures don't do it justice. It's definitely not for everyone, but it has it's own charm.

My vintage Sub in White get's compliments from other watch collectors or people in the know. Just sitting in a restaurant has drawn out the owner who saw it. I also have had offers to buy as well.

I never knew there were so many Rolex watchers.

Years ago I was in the pub with a few mates wearing a bi metal datejust when one of them spotted it and proceeded to show me his fake one. I was a bit drunk at the time and told him it was a fake He insisted it was real so I told him I had an easy way to tell. He gave me his watch and I took mine off and dropped them both in his pint of beer. Boy was he pissed when after a few minutes his " genuine Rolex " filled with beer.

My old 18K 1503 DJ with diamond dial and bezel was commented upon in a supermarket by the bloke who collects the trollys with " thats not real " to which I replied no I bought it in Turkey for £30.

Pam 359 got a " now thats a nice watch" comment

Other than that they fly under the radar or people notice but do not comment or assume they are fake.

Rarely -- but the only compliments I can recall on watches were on my Daytonas -- in particular the YG on the strap -- although the Stainless did as well.

I am so happy that you tried it on Abdullah!!! The magic of the SACO is how it can look so conservative and loud at the same time. Definitely in person it is really nice to see.

When I had the 116718 with the green face, I did get a few compliments

But really, by far the most compliments and noticed thing I wear is my fitbit.

I can't remember the last time someone mentioned anything to me about any of my watches. That is why I like spending my excess money on them, it is like a private indulgence that I get to look at and enjoy throughout the day with little fuss from others. As some one earlier in this thread commented. In America people are more obsessed with luxury cars and big houses as a detector of success(or massive debt). I went through the luxury car phase and am slowly moving back to sensible vehicles and putting the savings into my watch collection.

Never had a comment on a Rolex, but did get a "nice watch" on a white dial IWC Mark XV and a "nice watch" on a black dial Mark XV.

Being kinda young(22) and owning a rolex not for looks but because Id rather invest a decent amount of money in something that ill have forever and not wasted drinking or partying I receive quite a couple compliments on my DateJust II/116333/Green Romans.

I also own a Tag Carrera that received many many compliments! For those of you saying in the US watches aren't big, just know...IM ALWAYS LOOKING!

definitely the 1680/8... I don't wear it often but when I do, it absolutely gets the most positive attention!

I rarely, and I mean almost never, get compliments on my watch. I doubt most I'm close to even pay attention to watches that people wear. However, when I had the Exp II polar 42mm, it definitely received the most comments, especially when worn on a bright orange strap haha. My prior blue two-toned Sub received a number of comments as well due to the yellow gold and blue mix. My SubC, however, has gotten noticed only about two-three times in five years, which is perfectly fine by me (and preferable honestly). : )

Curious...Is it actually the watch...? When I was on a plane last year, I was sitting next to a person who had on a 116710 with the green GMT hand, and although I wanted to say something a few times, his scorned face and lack of interaction, I mean not so much as a look over at me during the whole flight, made me shy away...

So, Maybe it's not all on the watch...It's you!

Complimented a submariner in my office elevator. He didn't know what I was talking about. Then I said 'nice watch'. He said 'oh, it's not "original".

Saw another submariner at lunch a few weeks ago. Tables were very close. I said nice submariner. He also had no idea what I was talking about.

I wear a Rolex almost daily. I've never received a compliment on a Rolex. One guy asked me about my Pepsi because he was interested in the colors but had no idea what brand watch it was. I told him it is a pilot watch made to keep track of time zones.

Never had a single person mention any watch I have worn, and that includes Submariner, Milgauss, Day-Date 40, Grand Seiko and so on.
I'd worry if they did. For me, watches are a personal pleasure. I think, here in the UK, people might be hesitant to mention your watch, even if they did notice. They probably assume they are all fakes anyway!

Z blue Millie got several compliments over a few months at one point but, I'd say most don't realize it much.
