Submariner or Submariner Date? (Poll)

I know there was a topic on this recently but I wanted to re-make one with a poll to see some actual numbers.

I can't decide, I love the clean looks of the ND but I do like the practicality of the date function.

Also, which model is more desirable later on? The 14060 seems to be more popular than 16610.

From even a small distance, Non date looks too similar to SD4k imho

No mistaking a Sub date from any distance.. lol

It may seem trivial but you have no idea how much you look at the date in your watch. Want to be sure? Get any regular watch you have and place a dot with a sharpie over the date and see for yourself

Classic Sub wins for me easily - 114060 over 116610 Submariner Date every day. It is truly one of the best Rolex - so clean and perfect in every way!

if this is going to be a daily wear, I'd choose the date, but knowing me, it would be part of a bigger rotation, and I'd likely go with a ND. The cyclops is growing on me, but never been my favorite. Would still prefer a watch without it.

In the SS with a black dial I prefer the ND Sub. The balance of the dial and it is some what unique in that you see very few of them around. It also opens you up for a later purchase of the Hulk. Same Submariner but with a date. I have found that the purchase price of the 114060 is reasonable and it holds it value well if purchased right.

Wore a recently Daytona at work for a week then got rid....
One reason was that it didn't have a date complication

Wear a non-date watch for a while and see how much you miss it....

Now all of my watches have a date function

No date if you have multiple watches / rotation. If it's a daily, date preferred

After wearing my Daytona I realized I don't need a date. I would prefer the 114060.

Tough call. If it was my first i would go with a date Sub. If it was my second Rolex then i would consider the ND Rolex Sub (14060, 114060).

Except 114060 is not the classic Sub. The one that was produced for 40 years (5513/14060) is the classic.

Submariner or Submariner Date? (Poll)

I love the symmetry of the no date. I loved the look and bought one only to move it along due to my dependence on the date function. If you can do without a date function go for it if not save yourself the money and buy the date up front.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

And yes I have owned a 6538, 5512 2 line gilt, 5512 4 line gilt, 5512 underline gilt, 5513 Milsub, 5514 Comex, 5513 MF, 1680 MF MK2, etc. etc. so trust me I understand! Yes the 114060 is the Submariner with classic look in the current Rolex lineup!

Date!

I don't get this "balance of the dial" nonsense
Do you add an extra steeing wheel to your car to make it look "balanced "? It's just a watch. Get the date!

I still look for the date on my watches.......even my Daytona!

For me, I prefer the Sub date. From a purely esthetic point of view, the ND looks cleaner and more symmetrical.

Good luck

I prefer the no date. It doesn't scream "ROLEX!!" the way the date model does...
