Probably the new sea-dweller but only because I have tried the DSSD-blue twice . The D-blue wears much bigger so that is a consideration. I know the size difference says 1mm but the DSSD is very much taller.

SD43 as I think it will be the same size as the old one so more manageable, altho I wouldn't have minded a graduating blue dial on it too.

If you're collecting or need a weekend watch, DSSD. For daily wear, I'd still choose a Submariner.

I love the SD Red, but it still hasn't resolved the middle-child syndrome for me at the price point.

I pick both.

One commemorate James Cameron’s record setting journey to the deepest point in the ocean.

Another celebrates the 50th birthday of Sea Dweller.

Both are collectibles IMO.

There's only a handful of Rolex watch model released in the name of an event or something memorable.

If you can carry off the DSSD, that's the go to watch for me - better still a DBlue

But also love the idea of a larger Sub, and the 50th SD ticks that box, whereas the prior model Sea Dweller was not on my radar

SD43 for sure. 43 mm is perfect for my 7.1" wrists. And I always disliked the "ringlock system" and "gasescape valve" text on the front of the DSSD. I know it has those features; that why I probably choose it in the first place..... I dont need to be reminded every time I look at it.

I would never wear a dssd. I'll have to try the sd43 before I can speak on that. Hopefully it's considerably more comfortable than the dssd.

Tough choice but I would say the new 43. It's the 50 anniversary model, it has a Cyclops. Although I have yet to try it on, but based off the reviews the new wider bracelet makes it more balance.

I owned the DSSD black, great looking watch, but was never comfortable on the wrist after a few hours.

Deep blue for me. I love the dial. It sees the most wrist time for me. Bluesy and Pepsi have been very lonely. Before anyone asks, no you can't keep them company for me lol

My vote goes to the DSSD. I'm assuming that your wrists are big enough to pull it off well...not many people can. I think the D-blue dial is nice and unique, as well as size and totally unnecessary depth rating.

If you are considering a watch for daily wear however, both pieces are fat as hell on the wrist, especially the DSSD so I would caution you there. If you're going for a dive watch that you can wear any time, anywhere, the sub date is your answer.

X2 plus I like the D-blue dial, it's different than any other watch.

Although not practical to 99.9999999% of people, technically speaking Rolex has incorporated more technology into DSSD to make it able to withstand extreme depth. Definitely a very special watch worth to own if one has big enough wrist!

D-blue seems more likely to be a short run, so if by "keep for in the future" you have value considerations in mind, then that's the one I'd go for, in the meantime. Plus I love it!

The wording on the rehaut and the green DEEPSEA seem gimmicky and cheapen the watch in my opinion. I don't like the Deapsea. Please, no offense intended to those who appreciate it.

D-blue. I love it, there is something in that dial. So special, but... it's not for everybody. I am tall guy and I can pull it off and this one is a keeper for me.
I have to see SD43 to say something about it because pictures didn't convince me.

Sd43 because 43 will fit better than 44. 44 is massive in my wrist
