New Old stock Rolex 14060m
Dear All
I am from Singapore. Need your advices badly and desperately. I owned a 2008 M series 14060m before and sold it recently as i wanted to upgrade to a 116520. Unfortunately the 116520 price have shoot up and i am not willing to pay premium price for a used one. 116520 have stopped production since. The agony is i missed my 14060m very much. Recently i stumbled across a bnib 14060m old stock from one of the AD. Its completely brand new and come with random series. Sadly the price is SG11,500 (Usd approx 7300) which is way above the retail price back then. Even 114060 ceramic model is cheaper at SG 10,030. My dilemma is 1-should i buy it at this crazy price? I dont recall what is the brand new price back in 2012. 2-if i were to wear it will the watch values drop significantly? 3-should i just buy a used one at ard SG6500 (approx usd $4300) and save the remaining for another purchase? What will you do if you are given a chance to buy this? Watch no longer in production and it is brand new random serial but crazy price. Will come with Rolex Warranty too. Looking forward to your opinions. Cheers. |

Buy used one if not over polished and comes with card
The nos is just a novelty or something someone wants who is a serious collector and will never wear it. |

If purchasing from a reputable dealer I'd also have to say number 3.

I believe the 14060 price was 6300 before being discontinued. It is one of my favorite watches ever.Ive had it many times. If I came across one new for 7300 I would grab it in a heartbeat.

$7300 for a 14060m BNIB from an AD is a good deal. Grab it.

There is something to be said for taking the stickers off your own watch, although what that something is and what it is worth varies from person to person, but to some people, it is enough of the answer to your question, why.

New Old stock Rolex 14060m
Quote:
It's not going to be a $4k watch when he takes the stickers off. More like a $6k+ watch, based on what pristine 4-line 14060m's with box and papers are going for nowadays. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=531962 https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=533365 For a premium of around a thousand bucks, he gets a first-owned, AD-purchased watch, with he full Rolex factory warranty and his name on the warranty card. It also seems like the OP would like to keep this watch for a long time, given his statement about missing his previous 14060m so much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would only buy the new one if you're planning to keep it new as a collection piece. No need to take the immediate depreciation as soon as you start wearing it. There plenty of clean 14060s out there that will give you just as much enjoyment as a new one.

Hi.
Have I missed something? Watch A if flipped in order to buy watch B. Watch B increases in price. You're unwilling to pay a premium for watch B. You now wonder if you should buy watch A back at a premium! You obviously prefer watch B to watch A, so buy it. If funds are lacking, wait and save. Don't settle for second best. That goes in life too. Ask your dad... |

Nos, nothing beats it. Yes I paid more but the watch is brand new and it's history is my history.....but I don't have to worry about any polishing or should I say over polishing.

Easy 3. You can likely pick up a great condition g, v or whatever, or random 5 series for a lot less money than that if you are patient.

Buy the watch and sell it to me for profit.^^
If you're confident that this is going to be your watch for the rest of your life, I would buy it new, albeit at a premium price, and wear the heck out of it. |

Not sure you can find a clean 14060m for under $5300, if you do find one in the 4K range I would say jump on it, I've been trying to buy one for some time now, and any excellent condition 14060m with box/papers from a reputable seller is between $5800 and $6000, almost same price as a pre owned 114060, it seems like there is good demand for this Sub.

1. No, and it was much less in 2012.
2. Yes, once you take off the stickers and wear your NOS watch it becomes used and will be worth SG6500 as you stated in your 3rd question. 3. Yes, buy used and save the remaining funds for the Daytona.
