James Cameron Deepsea in U.K.

Hi guys, does anyone know of an AD with a new James Cameron, Deepsea, the two AD's I tried have stated they both have waiting lists of 8 to 10 years.

Les unfortunately the two AD comments should have been a clue. I would put lots of money on the fact any that do show up are already spoken for.
As it stands you might as well go and look for a unicorn

Every grey dealer seems to have them. You'll pay well over the odds but probably less than retail will be in 8 - 10 years

I was told 1 year at Goldsmiths but they got one within 5 months. Sadly they called when I was in a meeting and by the time I called them back they'd sold it.

Many thanks, I'll give them a try, I'll add my name to their list.

I should have kept the one in my avatar, I gave it to my Son as a graduation gift.

My AD here in the states has one in the display and one in the safe. I really feel bad for you guys in the UK when I hear the wait times for these SS pieces.

8-10 years!! 11,300 pounds! Jeez what are all these numbers. In the past 2 weeks I was in over 4 boutiques and they all had more than 2 in stock. Of course, I am talking about the Dubai/Middle East area. List price was around $12,000.

Feel bad that people are actually signing up for a multiple year waiting list. I am not that patient :))

Not sure if you can skirt duties in the UK if you buy from HK or not...

More like 35%, Vat plus 15% currency.

Get on a dozen lists, one will come up in 6 months.

Works out about £9400 which I'd be happy with, but full Duties to be paid on purchases from H.K.

Les I got one off my AD in 3 months (I have a great relationship so that helps - got the first Daytona last year and a BLNR within 24 hours this week), however I know of someone that took it on himself to get one come hell or high water - he literally phoned every AD in the UK saying he had the cash and wanted to buy that day. Took him dozens of calls but he got one. I think too often people call 2 or 3 people, hear all the negatives about waitlists and give up.

Can't say this will work every time but availability is definitely better than it was the end of last year.

Since Rolex is Swiss, I wonder why the wait is so much longer in the UK than the US. In Florida, I had to wait 2 days for my dealer to order my D-blue DSSD. With the amount of tax you pay for HK, it sounds like it would be cheaper to fly over and buy it.

Good luck

And if it doesn't work, do it all again in a couple of weeks - trust me it's worth it

Yes, persistance does indeed pay off.

ADs dont 'order' dssd-b...they are allotted....your timing just worked out

if it was a 'grey' dealer than they have ADs in which they can source pretty fast...

I got one in about 3 weeks of going on an AD's list, picked it up last weekend. I was very lucky as the people before me couldn't complete on the purchase.

They told me that they had to order it, and it took 2 days. Perhaps they were ordering if from another store that was part of the chain?

Stick with it, I also managed to bag one after 3 weeks but had to pay 20% deposit upfront which I was happy to do. Right place right time.
Your avatar shows you already have one, did you flip it?

Thats a great gift, I think giving them away is part of the joy of owing them, granted my son is only 10 so I have 11 years before I hand one over

Hello Les
You on the waiting list for the next 8-10 yrs ? WW Really ??

Come to think of it.. it ain't so bad after all ! Heck ! Great Britain was our former Colonial Masters since 1824 and we had to wait for an agonizing 133 years before gaining full independence

If you're truly passionate , single mindedness on personal quest to acquire a brand new Ref 116660 D Blue , consider planning a business cum holiday trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. PM me if you're interested and I'll provide you with the contact /whatsApp number of the Merchant. I have no affiliation with this seller whatsoever and he doesnt ship the item internationally so it's all upto you, Sir

He sources 1 unit of D-Blue every month from overseas and it literally flies off the shelf once news of its arrival gets around...
