I think they are watch specific- it's all a matter of opinions and taste. PCL look good on Yachtmasters And other Rolex pieces but I got tired of them on my BLNR so had the AD Brush them - looks so much better and much more traditional

I have seen some BLNRs with brushed bracelets and there is no denying it looks good, but the PCLs have grown on me. They just ad something to the look of the watch. So either I have gotten used to them (mild case of Stockholm Syndrome) or could it be that I actually like them ?
I've always liked them. Scratches don't bother me.

I find that lighting makes a huge difference on PCL's. In bright daylight they can almost disappear and look like the brushed sections, in the shadows they can look dramatic with an amazing two-tone two-texture feel.

I think the PCLs look much better on the Daytona than the GMT. Brushed on GMT is the way to go.

Pre-TRF, I actually had a GMT2c and thoroughly enjoyed that watch...before joining and reading endless posts how one must dislike PCL's because horror of horrors, it might scratch.

Oh...and that they disqualify it from being a....wait for it...TOOL watch.

I’ve embraced pcl from the get go on my Daytonas and blnr. To me scratches are part of owning a watch and they add character.

If you are going PM then PCL's are a fact of life and you just have to move past the swirlies and scratches they accrue.

I had my BLNR's PCLs brushed out after a few months. Then added a Subc to the mix and had them re polished back

Now I switch the sub bracelet out with the gmt, but honestly have grown to like the PCLs and prefer it that way on the BLNR

So how did it look after you had it polished back? Did it look like it did before?

It depends on the watch, of course, but on most watches I prefer PCLs. Unless the brushing is just amazing, I find it a little boring to have the same finishing over the entire bracelet.

I went with black GMT instead of the Sub, solely because of the dressier PCL’s.
I like them.

The PCL’s on my Datejusts are fine. I do gently buff them from time to time to keep their shine.

On my GMT they’re not fine, so I bought a sub bracelet and fitted that to the watch instead and now it’s perfect.

If you brush the PCL bracelet and then decide you want the PCL's redone again does it eat away at a lot of the bracelet material to get the shine back?

Yes to scratches. I have a YM and BLNR and love the pcls. My YM is 17 years old. The scratches sort of patina after time, and when serviced they’ll polish them for you. All in All, I sweat the scratches as much as the next guy on my new BLNR. on my YM I don’t even think about it.

To me it looks exactly like it did before. Obviously some metal has to be removed to get back the polish, but my AD did it and all is good.

Still a love/hate relationship for me after a year and half of ownership. My OCD makes me want to polish it but I've sort of grown to live with the scratches. However, I do love the look of it and consider it a must on my blnr.

I am amazed at how the brushed bracelet on my new sub is so good at hiding minor swirls and scratches. The jubilee is technically polished as well but also pretty good at hiding scratches. Each bracelet has its own charm and I love all of them.

First of all, I do not own a PCL watch. It is more blingy but still decent, especially in steel. In gold it becomes more of a luxury, jewellery look but the contrast PCL/BCL is really beautiful. I would not need time to get into the look, love it from the start.
