Beautiful example!! I'm looking at a 16600 myself.

Were the hands replaced?

I don't like any of the ceramic submariners they are tacky. I love my 16610LV and my 16808. The 16618 is also a beautiful watch and I think they will only go up.

Beautiful Sea-Dweller. Not a fan of the Nato strap, though. Oyster bracelet all the way!

I don't think so, they are yellow but slightly lighter. Far from white in the flesh. I was told the Tritium can react different over time on the hand and dial. I guess it's applied in different thicknesses, maybe that makes a difference, or the material it's applied to...who knows!?

Also they don't glow in the dark at all when tested with a torch in a dark room. Also no service marks in case so I don't think it's ever been back to RSC.

To me it looks in very original condition, I think it's just had an easy 26 years!

After doing some research a few others of the same age have slight differences between Luke on hands and face, I guess they could have had their hands changed at some point... who knows!

Even if the hands have been replaced I don't mind, I still love it :)

I don't think so, it looks very original and in the flesh there isn't much difference between the shades on hands and face. It was explained that it's possible the Tritium can age differently on hands and faces. Maybe something to do with the thickness of the application or the sight different material its applied to... who knows?

Also no service marks in case so I don't think it's been back to a RSC. Also there is zero glow when tested with a torch in a dark room.

I don't mind if original hands or not, I still love it :)

That was my thought exactly! I thought it would be tricky to find another in the same condition, with all the papers etc.., from a seller I trust with a warranty for 2 years.

It's also keeping time within 1 second a day, so really can't complain at all!

I think my next watch will be an Explorer 1 36mm... they are still at a reasonable price and such a classic
