Thanks Carl!
Yeah the Prince Regent is very attractive. It needs a 16618 to accompany it.
Sadly I'm broke

I'm quite sure it's rubies. Whether it's synthetic or natural, I don't know. It's so small anyway...

Sapphires for the Vermeil Christie and Rubies for the lesser ones.

Sadly, I can only afford the lesser ones now....

Mont Blanc Boheme Doue Gold Roller Ball

I tried the FP of the same look/model but it's significantly shorter and harder to handle.

Those Agatha Christie's look amazing. The snake would look pretty cool hanging out of your pocket.

It's a shame they're hard to find.

X2, not to mention the striking eyes.
I just saw an unopened set (FP, RB, BP) with matching serial#s on E-bay for
BIN at $4,988.

Thanks mate! My pleasure! I tried to take good photos to tempt you

As for the price of Christie - For the FP, if one can find a naked (i.e. no box no paper) mint condition (i.e. the dent/scratches are not visible by visual examination, but they show on loupe examination), fair price is approx USD1100-1300, depending on your luck. For the BP naked / mint ones are like $700-900. I can't seem to find a benchmark pricing for the MP as they are very difficult to find or they only come in sets. I would say naked/mint examples are also $700-900 range.
Box and papers are tradeable separately and approx 100-200 bucks each.
So, I would say for a set approx $3500. Of course if it is a sealed set with same serials, you gotta pay premium on top but I won't pay more than $4k.

After I posted this morning, I did a quick Google search, and found the sets in the $4.5K-$5K range...and nearly passed out.

Richard posted a few weeks ago about the Christie MP he picked up, and that seems like a score, as he stated he'd been searching for quite a while.

Who knows...maybe I'll begin the search. Pens are certainly cheaper than watches (or at least the pens I'm looking at).

Thanks for the info, by the way.

Also note that since US dollar has dropped so much, the European dealers are holding onto their euro pricing. That also contributes to the pricing disparity. If you look for US only ebay sales, they are generally cheaper.

The feel of a pen is very important. There are lots of great 'feeling' fountain pens around so if you don't feel happy with the Boheme FP then there are lots more options. e.g. MB 149 with an O3B nib
