Arrived today from Japan

I owned one of the very first Spring Drives back in the day (SBWA001). Of course, I lost it. Didn't think much about the tech at the time. Just a novelty from Japan. Well a few decades later.... this showed up today:

Grand Seiko 9R Spring Drive SBGE209

Again, direct from Japan. Omicron Watch from Tokyo had it through customs, and in my hands, within a week.

Wear it well.

Hi. I know this is an old thread but I just saw the SBGE209 in Japan yesterday and was wondering if any owners could give a review on this piece. Strangely I googled and can hardly find any review on this watch.

Well, I can't point you to any online reviews, but I do love mine. Fit and finish are awesome, and I've bought and sold a lot of watches in my day:

Thanks Eric. Appreciate your feedback. Looks like this is a Japan only model, so that might explain the lack of reviews on it. But so far from the little time I’ve spent with it, it’s looking really good. I’m itching to get my first Spring Drive and the fact that this one is a GMT as well may just swing it for me. I’ll be in Tokyo again at the end of the month so I guess the hunt is on!

If there are any other owners kind enough to post some comments on this piece, that would be really appreciated. Thanks!
