I guess, I am a little different. To me, it's a watch. A nice watch. Something I have wanted for a long time and finally treated myself to but nothing more. Half the time the bezel on my Submariner isn't aligned with 1200 and I have no clue if it is off by a few minutes. It is under my sweatshirt cuff and no-one can see it.

I know it is real but I have no idea if there are minor "flaws" or idiosyncrasies with my watch such as misalignment or other details some fret over. I wear it every day. Love having it, the clasp is already scratched up from desk diving but I have never really studied it that closely, let alone with a loupe.

FWIW - Wear it. Enjoy it. And don't sweat it.

Learned this years back from a premier type-setter guy: Some letters will sit lower than others in order to look correct. Perfectly normal. (especially in the old hand-set days.)

Lovely watch, learned a lot about Seiko's since i joined this forum. I didn't realize they were such class pieces. Read an article on the history of the company, that somebody was good enough to post a link to.

Without the box somebody put around it, it did look slightly lower to me. Although it may be an optical illusion due to the textured dial.

Enjoy it and wear it well.

From traditional typography and typeface design point of view, S' lower part would hang slightly lower than the baseline (unless you are looking at some modern, blocky fonts). I really don't see visual or design issue in the pics you posted.
