Another Tudor GMT Has Landed.............

Absolutely thrilled after receiving this Tudor Black Bay GMT hand delivered to me last night by Kevin [KVNNSCHNG] and his lovely better half, Christie. Kevin was sporting an beautiful LV and Christie, a classic Jaeger. Kevin is a first class gentleman and a pleasure to deal with. He was kind enough to throw in a pair of Tudor cuff links that will be put to good use.

You've read all the reviews and thoughts about the Tudor GMT. I wanted to comment on the things that brought me and this new classic together.

A year ago when the Tudor & Rolex Pepsi GMTs where released I thought both brands missed the mark with the choice of bezel colors. I couldn't be more wrong about the Tudor [can't comment on the Roles GMT because I've never seen one in person]. Being colorblind [I see about 60% of the colors others see] I was girding myself for a pretty bland experience. Just the opposite. Really love the muted colors as it makes this GMT stand on it's own.

I purchased the leather strap model as I wanted to utilize the beautifully made deployment clasp and custom end links for future strap adventure. Plus, my THC bracelet will fit perfectly, which will be another viable option. But for now it's sporting an uber comfortable Bonetto Cinturini rubber nato. Really suits this tool watch.

For the longest time I couldn't put my finger on why I kept being drawn in by this watch. Then I read a review that gave it clarity. Compared to other Black Bays the GMT has thinner profile handset and hour markers. This really adds to the vintage vibe. The entire package, no crown guards, matte dial w/ silver printing [and only what's necessary], aluminum bezel & bezel colors, and boxed sapphire crystal make this the perfect melding of a vintage classic snowflake and a 16710.

Although I've not experienced the infamous date issue it's a non-factor to me. I don't mind a few growing pains when striving to succeed with a new in-house movement. Rolex & Tudor have had their share and you learn from your mistakes, not from your success.

Much like my THC the attention to detail is top notch and one hell of a value. So proud Tudor has taken risks and continues to keep collectors buzzing year after year.

That really looks amazing, Dan. When I first saw that model at a Tudor event last year, I was not really too impressed. Seeing it later at an AD, it was growing on me. And I haven't seen one in real life since then, about 9 mos. Your enthusiasm, great pics and the choice of straps have given me a greater appreciation.

Hopefully, I will get to see one in real life at some point. Meanwhile, I am certain you will get a huge amount of pleasure out of your's. And thanks for sharing your "incoming" story.

Congratulations!

Cheers
Carl

Congrats Dan!!!

super pictures.....You hit it on the ball when you mentioned the thinner hands and smaller lume plots/markers make the watch have a vintage vibe yet the whole package feels new. I specifically love love love the snowflake hands. I didn't on the other BB models but i think the slimmer version really works well...
