First time into AD and first watch aquired.. Luck of the Irish!

New to the luxury watch world but fell hard for a friends recent GMT purchase. As a pilot I loved the history of the GMT and decided to try and find one. I spent a lot of time on the forum here and I realized how difficult it would be to find one as a first time buyer.

Friday I decided to stop into my local AD just to introduce myself and see if they had any previously owned in stock. After chatting for awhile he told me he happened to have a GMT in stock and would call me for it. I was shocked!

Needless to say later that afternoon I became the proud owner of a new 16710LN

Thank you all for the info on this forum, it has been extremely helpful!

Congratulations on a beautiful piece. Although there was a bit of luck involved, I'm sure they were saving it for someone they felt would really enjoy the piece. Looks great on you!

Congrats.. I don't see how an AD ever reject a pilot in their store asking for GMT Master II while they have it in stock!

Great to see another GMT at work. I've flown with one other pilot that commented on it and he said he owned a BLNR of his own.
