Is the 214270 the only 6 digit that works on NATO?

Is the 214270 the only 6 digit sport reference that still works on NATO? What do u think?

Some argue that the new ceramic bezels are a bit too upscale and flashy for a NATO strap. Others like the milgauss and AK case too bulky

I believe they all work well. But something about the explorer just screams NATO to me. Which is why I chose it over buying another sub, for its versatility with different straps.

Would love to hear opinions!

Some models look better on Nato than others but all models works with Nato. The Sub is one famous example, à-la-Sean Connery.

I hear a ton of people on this forum consistently say only 4-5 digit subs work on NATO and the ceramic is too flashy for a NATO strap. I also believe the sub works well on NATO.

I think it looks good on the explorer. In general, I agree that nato’s don’t look as good on the maxi case as they do the legacy cases.

I haven't tried my Explorer or Sub on anything other than the bracelet. Yours looks great on the Nato though! I could agree with the thought that a ceramic bezel model looks better on a bracelet.

It would be nice to have a watch that you could swap out with leather or a Nato just for fun.

Some models don't "work" with a NATO as the gap between springbar and case is too narrow. The MG will accept only the thinnest NATO's about 1.25mm.

Rolex always look best on the original bracelet

And nato's look silly on the maxi case references because of the larger lugs AND the flashiness of the newer references.

That looks good on the black nato, here's my Explorer on my GMT's Everest where it spends most of its time.

Your explorer looks good with the nato. However, generally, I think Natos look better on vintage 4 digit models.

I agree. Vintage models do seem nice on NATO, unlike the modern references, imho.

Modern Rolex bracelets are so great, that I do not see a reason wearing one without a bracelet, it's just part of the experience for me

I think the Explorer II looks killer. Saw this on Instagram (as you can see), so cool. Yes I know, not a 6-digit, but thought it was worth a post anyway.

Periodically I will put my 114060 on a NATO, especially if I'm working around the house and there is potential to severely ding the bracelet. I'm happy with it.

6 digit Ex2 sports a nato pretty well too.

Will only comment on the 6-digit Submariner line. NATO looks better on the 4 and 5-digit versions of the same due to lug width.

The 214270 looks great on a nato/fabric style strap!

Here's mine on an "Erikas Originals" in all black.

For me it’s a four digit look. 5 digit in some cases, and seldom for 6 digits.

To each their own

I couldn't agree more. Even the Explorer is too smart and shiny to go on a NATO.

Wow man, not all Rolex watches look cool on NATO'S. White dial Explorer 2's seem to though. But I will say that Hulk on that green and blue strap is cool. It brings back memories chasing a girl that was fashion forward. Whatever the popular colors in vogue or seasonal are never change, but there are patterns that don't change. Like white with black patterns, red with blue or black patterns, and green with blue patterns seem to never go out of style.

Nothing to say about rolex bracelets, that's so obvious! But, it's very interesting can change the look sometimes!
