I love these photos.

I think a lot of the reason the 6 digit references don't work as well on the natos, at least from my perspective, is less about the ceramic bezels and more about the wide/fat lugs. The bulkiness of the lugs on the Subs doesn't translate well to the naturally thinner Nato strap.

It's more of a modern design with a utilitarian nato look and it clashes in a lot of cases.

Some argue that the new ceramic bezels are a bit too upscale and flashy for a NATO strap. Others like the milgauss and AK case too bulky

I believe they all work well. But something about the explorer just screams NATO to me. Which is why I chose it over buying another sub, for its versatility with different straps.

Would love to hear opinions!

Nope. 114270 also works (maybe even better than 212470?). ;-)

Sub on a nato. Works for me when hiking.

I think Nato works well with the 214270, but a single pass Nato strap is even better looking imo as it is less bulky. below is an example (not my photo)

100% agree. Single pass works best with Explorer I or II. Bracelet looks best, but for hiking and backpacking I prefer Natos.
