I like rotating between my SS (Sub and GMT) sport watches and my yellow gold Daytona.

I'll trade you my LVc for your Smurf. That way you won't have to "pay" a premium

Get what you like, but if in your shoes I'd keep the Smurf for sure over a LVc. If you're missing sunburst, check out a Z Blue or YM40 Blue sunburst or even a DJ41 sunburst dial which are great too.

Absolutely no regrets from my WG SkyD daily driver. I have it on a rubber strap but it’s still 190g. I absolutely love the size, weight, color, presence and knowing it’s a bit of a smurf. I hate taking it off and rarely do, so it goes with me in the shower and pool.

My experience in going to PM and bypassing SS has only been with the 5168G Aquanaut, but given how great the added heft feels I don't know if I can look at SS Aquanaut again (the orange chrono may change that, though). The difference has been so great that I am now contemplating buying the white gold Yachtmaster, when before I never thought about spending the extra cash for PM Rolex when it prices those watches into another tier of watches altogether.

I was able to try on a 40mm RG DD recently and immediately realized I could not wear a watch of that weight each day. I was hyper aware of it's presence on my wrist. I instead will go for a 116519LN on Oysterflex (which I'm told weighs less than full PM but more than steel)

You made the right choice by going for the 116619LB. If you still feel the need to switch back though, I'll gladly trade you my 10LV for your 19LB.

I think your feelings about the weight of the wearing the PM watch does tend to bother some people. Full PM pieces like your 116619 can be heavy on the wrist. I put my SD43 on a Rubber B strap because I felt it was too heavy as daily wear piece with the steel bracelet. The Blue Sub is very unique and very cool watch. I would consider selling it if you prefer something else. If green sub is discontinued this year then don't expect green subs to get cheaper to acquire, or consider the Rubber B or Everest strap for the watch and lighten up the weight and enjoy it.

Not sure if it’s the weight of the PM or that particular watch... for me, the blue Sub did nothing for me when I tried it on, but I love the LVc.

Any PM regrets?

I had a WG Pepsi, I think it weighed 208 grams, def heavy. I sold it because the super case shape just wasn’t comfortable to my 6.75” wrist, and the weight didn’t help at all. No regrets letting it go for me. If I bought another PM piece I’d probably look at a DD36...or by some other PM piece to be worn on a strap.

Honestly, I’ve looked at other watches and have owned a yachtmaster, but I’m a sub guy through and through.

While I wish the blue on the smurf was sunburst, I do find the blue quite attractive and much better looking in person - but it’s no green sunburst.

At first I loved the weight. A constant reminder of the awesome white gold. It wasn’t until recently that I’ve started to be a little annoyed.

No offense to OF owners, but I near equate a pm watch weight, with anything on rubber

I enjoy PM almost every day. 116619, 116718, and 116519LN (straps, so it does not count on the weight aspect...).

Rotate them all. Also have 126660Dblue and an AP SS diver.

Small, 7.25 flat wrist. The PM basically feels like it’s stuck to my wrist. I prefer PM. I’ll always have some SS references, but I’ve settled into PM, daily.

My DBlue is on my friends wrist, as he considers whether he really wants one. Impossible to test drive, so I’m glad I can help out.

We are all different. There was a time when I thought I wanted the lighter SS versions. But I’m pretty settled on PM.

Enjoy!

I had a Smurf and thought I was tired of it so I traded it. Dang, was that a mistake. I'm really missing it; worse yet, one of the watches I traded it for I ended up hating. I really wish I could get it back.

Have a YG Sub 116618LB. It is my only watch now. Love it! I owned a Hulk for 3 years and would never trade back for it. Gold is far more magic than steel

Almost perfect. My perfect neovintage is a 16618 with maxi dial, AR date mag, ceramic bezel insert, modern SEL, bracelet, and glide lock.
Basically a 116618 but with the 5 digit case.

I would def try and figure out a way to have both. That would be a killer combo. I think if you sold the Smurf, you'd regret it later. And I keep hearing from multiple AD's they haven't received a Smurf in 6+ months, so they might be getting hard to find.

I do enjoy my smurf and I do wear it every day. Lately I’ve been feeling like the additional weight is quite annoying, and I’m really missing the sunburst green.

I’m curious, those that wear PM literally every day, do you tire of it? My dad had a 16618LB for about 25 years but it was part of a rotation of four others. In additional, the smurf is much heavier than his was.

I spoke with my AD whom I have a great relationship. He told me that he can’t remember the last time he saw a green sub and just can’t predict if or ever they will get one again. Perhaps I need to sit tight, but everyone here know what it’s like when your mind starts to think about making a shift. I’m not interested in paying the premium the green sub commands on the secondary market. At least not $16k-$17k.
In my humble opinion, the Hulk and Smurf are very similar and difficult to delineate between WG and SS to the casual observer. If both watches were in steel, I would rather have the Hulk. Something about that sunburst green. + I love the brushed bracelet.

Yeah from the sounds of things, this is the best interpretation. I also agree with your other post. OP needs to add back a Hulk, even if he doesn't like the premium. Better to get one before they go up even more. Remember when the premium on Daytonas was only 17k? If the Hulk is discontinued, it is going to trend up. If it is replaced, it will still follow the new model and trend up like the Batman. If it isn't replaced, it is also going to trend up at this rate (its gone from what? 12k to 17k in less than a year?). IMO time to get in while you can.
