Speedmaster Pro loose sweeping second hand
Hi all. My Speedmaster Pro has recently started acting up. When I start the sweeping second hand, it gets stuck after 2 seconds. If I stop and start, it will restart. When stuck, if I tap the watch against my hand on the 6 o'clock side of the watch, the hand will move to that side. I don't think the hand is loose because the issue is intermittent (wishful thinking).
Thoughts? Anyone know a good watch guy in the SJ Bay Area? |

Should be an easy fix; the watchmaker will remove the bracelet, remove the case back, remove the crown/stem. Then after removing the movement, use a special tool to press down on the second hand to tighten it back. Make sure the second hand returns to the 12 position after using the pushers or he didn't line it up correctly.... Reverse the above items and done; ten minutes easy.

Thanks for the reply. Odd thing I just noticed: When the sweep second stops, so does the second sub hand. Odd. Was hoping it was just a loose hand but might be something else. Taking it in at the end of the month.
