we call these the watchco seamasters, and i do sure appreciate their functionality and the beauty but the concept is a bit unusual...watchco assembles these watches with new replacement parts for the old seamasters using movements from original or other models...quiet interesting pieces..hence they are so 'new' yet 'old' :)

Agreed. I have a ND version I had made my my watchmaker who has an Omega parts account and I sourced a vintage movement for it.

Yes that is what I was thinking. New vintage. It is very cool but not as vintage as i would have hoped,
but what a nice watch to wear any day anywhere. Thanks for the info. Not sure how it affects the value of the watch? |

It's worth significantly less than a true vintage in good condition. Nothing wrong with it, if you like that sort of thing. Plenty of these "watchco" watches out there, and some like having a "vintage" style in as-new condition.

They generally go for around $2200-$2500 from what I've seen. It cost me about $2350 to build mine with my watchmaker and then I bought the extra mesh strap for $400.

Yup guilty as charged, Jocke posted his project, I stole the idea from him, but Watchco had been doing it for years!!
Details on my project here

I came across this watch from my friend who thought he had found a vintage gem in like new condition. I had my doubts. So before I was going to buy it I thought I should run it up the flag pole and get some input.
So thanks for your input I like the watch ALOT have been wearing it ever since I got it from him to check out but I think he has over paid a bit for this new watch Thanks again |

You're looking at the reason Omega has cut supply of new parts from the open market. The watchco sm300 is nice, don't get me wrong, I really like them, but it was watches like this and folks trying to get them serviced at Omega that hurt everyone

I hear you
It would nice if maybe they did what Rolex does and marks the parts to some degree that it is a service part. (not on movement, but dials and crystals) |

The case backs that are original are stamped as above. The "replacements". Are 166.0324.
Omega added the 3 to differentiate old/new. But beware service hands and dials! |
