Hi, I tried to do some lume shots using my new Nikon D90, the lume looks very bright due to the long exposure. however, I see all the markers get multiple reflections. Is there any way to eliminate them? FYI this shot was taken using 18-55mm VR kit lens, at 55mm, F6.3, 20seconds, 0.3ev under ISO200. I illuminated the watch with a maglite beforehand.

Nice shot.

Many TRF-ers complain about the Rolex lume, but my Z-series 14060m and M-series 16710 glow through the entire night. Even my re-lumed 5513 glows pretty well.

Can't say I'm crazy about the green . . . sometimes in daylight the markers have a green tint to them. My old tritium dial never did that. White against black looks better.

Thanks guys!

I figured out the only way to avoid those reflections is to position the watch directly facing the camera full frontal. Unfortunately that kind of "mugshot" never looks good.

May have to resort to photoshop to touch out those reflections

I wonder if the new Submariner Ceramic will have blue lume as the DEEPSEA, or it will be the regular green as always...Any thoughts?

IMHO the reflections are just fine! Both the ones on the rehaut and from the crystal. They show off more of the Superluminova's power. If you try to remove those reflections with Photoshop, you'll need to do it on an individual basis, else risk loosing that arc made by the seconds hand sweep, and that's too cool to go without. Just my 0.2.

Rolex information posted on another forum lists the Sub's lume as "Chromalight", the same material as the DSSD. So yes, I suppose the new Sub may very well have blue lume!

I've noticed these reflections not just on lume shots. I think it is caused by the synthetic sapphire crystal, and I get it on certain angles, EXAMPLE:

Notice on both photos only the hot spots under the crystal do this, the lume-pea on the bezel does not
