AD selections / shipments

Is it accurate to say that ADs do not know or choose exactly which SS professional models they will receive in shipments? My AD seems to get Subs (date and non) on a fairly regular basis but literally one at a time. They currently have a GMT which came yesterday but with a black bezel. Just wondering how this all works and still don’t understand why one can’t “order” the desired model / features. Also if the AD had a choice why not order the popular GMT rather than the black bezel.

I’ve read the various shortage posts but the situation still doesn’t seem completely logical. I am left to conclude that the demand is so great and supply so short that ADs just take what they are given.

On the shipment side it seems as though product is flowing at a trickle pace but is regular. Anyone know if there is a standard shipping interval like one or twice per month?

They can order certain references, but all the hot pieces are allocated to them however Rolex chooses to do so. If you want a YG DJ with a certain dial, they'll get it for you.

Knowone on forum would know that it would be between Rolex SA and ADs around the world only. And Rolex USA is a separate company from the rest of the world so would have their own rules.
