Tudor date-day
Hi everyone,
I just joined even though I’ve been visiting the site for quite a while. I’ve just bought a Tudor date-day from 1986 reference 94613. It’s beautiful I love it. Just a quick question for some experts - all the examples I’ve seen pictures of before say “Tudor oyster prince date day” on the dial. Mine says “Tudor prince date day” without the “oyster”. It seems to me it was only the later ones like say in the 2000’s that dropped the “oyster” on the dial. I have no doubt that the piece is genuine as I purchased it from a very reputable and trusted online company but I just find it strange. I’m wondering if maybe it was replaced with a later dial during a service? What do you kind folks think? Thank you in advance for your time |

There are multiple dials available for the Tudor DD's so likely has been changed as it is over 30 years old. Pictures of the watch would help

Without seeing it, my guess is re-dial. I’m assuming it also has the slightly shorter hour markers too, no? That’s very subtle.

Oh wow, yeah ever so slightly shorter and different shape too. Didn’t notice that! Also says Swiss made instead of Swiss. Huh cool oh well, doesn’t bother me. Not like it’s a 1958 sub or something, just a $2000 watch.
Thanks guys! |
