Rolex and Apple Watch owner question.
So I'm having a bit of a dilemma. I bought an Apple Watch a couple of month ago and while it's a fun "timepiece", it surely isn't a necessity. It's actually a bit of an inconvenience. I can't wear it under water and I have to take it off at night to charge it. That being said, I do miss wearing my Rolex quite a bit. But, unlike my Rolex, I feel extremely guilty putting away my Apple Watch because it's existence is limited. In two years it will be obsolete and if I don't wear it now, then what's the point. Are they any Apple Watch/Rolex owner who face the same issue? If you do, please share your thoughts.
Thank you very much! Greg |

It was my daily for a few months. But after getting the SubC, the Apple Watch doesn't get any wrist time at all. But I do still wear the Apple Watch to the gym to keep track of my calories burned.
Btw, I take my Apple Watch swimming sometimes and it still works. But no deep dives. Just laps around the pool. Weird huh? |

Only wear my Apple watch to the gym and to be honest it isn't a very good gym watch. I only own an Apple watch because it was a gift.

I just can't bring myself to wear an apple watch. Until it's a fully functional phone, it's not for me. Even then, not sure I could swing it. Would miss my real watches too much.

My android phone keeps me connected enough. Too connected, in fact. No desire for a smart watch.

I ordered an Apple Watch as soon as it was released but i found after several months it was nothing more than a notification device. Now that I just received my Daytona there's no comparison. I sold the Apple Watch :)

No.
They are two different items. I wear my Apple watch for exercise. I wear my other watches for work and other activities. They co-exist very nicely.

I have no desire to buy the Apple Watch until now. My garmin GPS golf watch is dead!

I was given an Apple watch, putzed with it for a day and haven't worn it since. My iPhone does what I need without the inconvenience of charging a watch every day. So no conflicts with my wearing of Rolex.

Seems to me that if you want to fully utilize the Apple Watch, you have to wear it every day.
I get by fine without the notifications. My phone is on my desk in plain sight most of the day... And I like Swiss (or Japanese) on my wrist! |

I wear two 'timepieces'. As a right-hander, the left wrist gets the mechanical timepiece (new Rolex Sub ND) and the right wrist is the Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 4G LTE. While the Apple is about two generations behind the tech curve, I find the Gear S2 to be very handy for messaging, alarm, speakerphone, and many other duties. Another benefit is that I can leave the 'brick phone' (any cell phone mind you) behind as the S2 has built-in phone and automatically fwd's calls, messages, etc as it is a stand-alone cell phone device so not limited by just Bluetooth. Another benefit is that I love having the time on my classic wrist.
BTW, check out the look and bands available for the Gear S2 4G. I changed it from leather to a very complimentary matching metal. This way it keeps the masculine visuals of a nice watch and avoids the 'geek look' imho. http://www.amazon.com/CIKIShield-Sta.../dp/B018DLZKMA |

you have to make the decision on your own... we don't know your lifestyle or need for either health monitoring or constant messaging and notifications.

Normally, I'd be all over something like the Samsung Gear, but I don't want to wear 2 watches and I am too attached to these old mechanical pieces of junk...

This is exactly why I won't buy an Apple Watch. It's just something I'd have to keep updated/etc. Wrist real estate is precious. For now, my Sub owns the property.

I bought one and used it for a few months. Like tom said, it was great for call and some gym time. I eventually stopped wearing it because I forgot to charge it and then it sat. I got it to try a new gadget, but it wasn't for me. I was lucky enough to find someone to buy it without too much of a hit.

Bought the Apple Watch SS when it came out and enjoyed it, until I bought a new Rolex. Since then it hasn't had any wrist time. I gave the the Apple Watch to my daughter.

I have the same thoughts on the Apple Watch. Its going to be obsolete in another year so I feel like I should wear it now. But I also vastly prefer my Rolex on a daily basis. Just looks and feels better to me.

I wear my Apple Watch with my daytime job with an Employer. Is great to see incoming text or calls without clicking on the phone and getting notice. I also like monitoring my heart rate.
Yes it will be obsolete quick. That's why I bought it used for $250 CAD. I don't feel bad at all. The Rolex will be for personal time outside my normal job with my Employer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have thought about getting an apple watch to use when I'm golfing and exercising. I'll probably wait til the next model comes out (I believe end of this year?).
