One of the greatest things about being so into watches is sharing that enthusiasm with others that share similar views on collecting. With that, I can't help but allow friends or colleagues with shared interests to try it on...no problemo!

A couple close friends who are into watches have handled my watches before.

If other close friends asked I would not care. Worth sharing and telling a story.

Yes. After going to a few watch meets, you get used to the idea of strangers picking up your watch and vice versa while you trade stories about your hobby/passion/collecting.

I don't treat my watches like Gollum and his ring- "My precious!"

I'm not sure I'd be friends with someone that I didn't trust to touch a watch.

If They Are Worthy!

I was at a AD the other day ( they also sell Patek, Vacheron, Audemars, etc.) A customer wearing a Pink Gold Patek Nautilus Annual Calendar noticed my 1960s Rolex Submariner 5512 sitting on the display pad while I tried on a Milgauss. They asked if they could take a closer look at my watch. I said "Sure" since he let me check out his $50K watch at the same time. He was Worthy!

I do. Especially when in the office or in an area that's not so crowded and we are seated comfortably.

If someone knew enough to say something about my 214270 I would hand it over no problem... Its always cool when you see watches in the wild you may not otherwise get the chance to see...I assumed it was proper WIS etiquette to hand it over for a minute so they can try it on...

Really depends on who....no coworkers would ever ask that of me I'd think.....friends...no problem as long as the setting is right....aka in some sort of privacy/roomy area....preferably over something soft lol.

Of course. Sure, there's a tiny chance they might drop it or scratch it, but historical evidence suggests I'll get around to that myself at some point....

I complimented a man in his deepsea once and he immediately took it off and gave it to me to look at, we were both on a cruise and in a lift so I guess he was sure I wasn't going anywhere but I suppose the fact I noticed what it was made him feel confident I would respect it and not drop it!

I've never been asked but if I were to be asked idt it would be a big deal? Just as long as the other person is careful.

Friends family sure. Hell when my father or I buy something & the other sees it for the 1st time we have a look we give each other like gimmie I wanna see!!! Lol. I find that most people are more careful with them than I am. I've dropped a few over the years rushing around or other dumb things.

Yea, I'll gladly let my friends have a closer look and try on my watch. I wouldn't hesitate lending it to my best friends either. After all, it's just a watch in my opinion.

Sure, why not? I like to share my passion with my friends, family, co-workers. Why not? Afraid they will steal it? I would say drop it but most handle it better then a human baby when they hear the word: Rolex.

I've let people handle my watches. I am not easy on them when I wear them, so I don't worry about others damaging them.

My old MD (I now run the company) was always interested in my watches, and I let him wear several of my pieces on special occasions over the years. When he retired and
I took over, I sold two of my Rolex watches to him.

Yeah, friends are welcome to handle it. Colleagues would be too, however, none of them have asked to hold them yet.

Exactly this. Except maybe something more like I wish someone would ask... and yes of course I would.

But I wouldn't let them drive my Porsche.

Around these parts my BLNR is soooo ordinary. Never been asked but my goodness it's only a watch. Some people think they own some rare, fragile, irreplaceable heirloom. I don't get these threads. I just don't.
