Is the Yachtmaster Rosegold 40 mg too trendy?

I love the watch but am worried that it will lose its appeal over time va some of the more traditional Rolex Models like the Submariner or Daytona. FYI, I am talking about the Yatchmaster Rosegold Oyster flex band

Seems a strange concern. The YM design has been around for some time and the oysterflex band is making it's way onto other models.

The YM 40mm rose gold w/ rubber band has no value in the future since the bands are rubber. If the 40mm came with the rose gold band as well and I can put the rubber band on it, that I would consider. I have heard from others on forums that the rose gold Rolexes don't stay nice for long. If I wanted a watch with a rubber band than I would get a swatch, lol.

Only of the only watches I regretted letting go.

I just recently corrected that tho.

I have a sneaky suspicion it'll be with me a long time this go around. I absolutely love it. The rose gold, black, matte combo is amazing. And classic. But I also love rubber straps. So this watch is a home run for me.

I think the YM rose gold is a beautiful watch, but I can't take the rubber band.

Rubber on gold ????????????

I think it's a good looking time piece. Buy well though because resale if you get tired of it will not be in your favor.

Not really trendy, gold and rubber was ten years ago, but it is less conservative than the usual Rolex. If you like it, buy it, you can get a nice discount on one. One of the first watches I ever lusted after was the iconic AP RG Rubberclad.

i don't think it's trendy at all.

I looked at one and what puts me off is that most of the RG is obscured and over-powered by all that black. If the outside diameter of the bezel was perhaps 0.5mm less, t would be so much more beautiful.

If I was in the market for a RG sports watch though, I'd be going for the PAM684. An absolute glamourpuss of a Submersible.

Ha. That's what I like about it.

I love how the black is most of what you see, with just a bit more than a hint of RG.

I like it. Its not trendy - just different for Rolex. And who can tell whether or not it will be a future classic - no one liked the Daytona when it first came out and dealers couldn't sell them. As long as you like it it doesn't matter.

I guess you like rose gold or you don't. I happen not to, though I would think it is closer to most naturally found gold. But I am just guessing at that.

Rolex tried too hard on that one. It's one of their worst models, IMO.

It's a very very beautiful watch. It is a bit of a hefty price to come with just a strap, but it would be much more expensive on a RG bracelet. If you like it get one. You could always sell it later.

I don't think I'd ever buy a rosegold watch. I just don't care for the hue.

I do like the YMII in yellow gold though. That is simply a gorgeous watch.

I love everything about it except the name. I'm not into boating and don't see anything nautical about the watch at all. Still, I've loved the Pt version for a long time and was blown away by the RG version when I tried it on in Vegas. It's never left my mind and I've even considered flipping the AP RO 15400 for it, but I can't part with the RO.
