Need your help on Y Serial GMT

I had an AD contact me about Y serial GMT they received that is available for sale. Watch has been serviced by local watchmaker but not Rolex USA. From pic it seems it could use a polish but I told them to hold off. It's a Full set with box and papers dated 2001. Please give me your thoughts on the piece and what's a fair deal.

Thanks

I’ll take a guess here. Search places like Chrono24 and online grey dealers to see how much a minter is going for. Knock off the price of a full service at RSC and there’s your ballpark figure.

Terrible photos...but it looks beat up. Bracelet clearly has gaps / "stretch"

Serviced? Really? How long ago?

I would not pay more than $5,500 - 5,750 in that condition.

For $7,000, it should look more like this:

Really? Can you get one as good as that for $7k?

For a full set in pristine condition in the UK you’d be closer to £6.5k or $8k apx.

I'd buy the set probably...seems like a good buy since the case is fairly strong (need more pics to confirm), full set, nice looking faded insert, y serial means last of lug hole case with solid end links.....if you wanted it to look new and shiny, a light polish from the right guys will accomplish it. Looks like a good buy to me....

Looks well worn, but the lugs look thick and it is a great serial for this model (you get lug holes and a SEL bracelet). Full kit is always a big plus, and the bezel insert fade on this piece is the cherry on top. I would jump all over it, but I would see if you can get them down to around 6,200 or so. Seems more reasonable.

IMO, you're probably looking at closer to 8k for a really mint example.

So...like Rudd said, factor in a service and either a bracelet restoration (or replacement) and there would be a good starting point in your negotiations.

U only need 5 bills to make it look new again. With b & p, if you get it under $6.5 k, u got a winner. The y serial is special to us Rolex wis.

I blame it on the autoconnect.

2001 is kind of early for a Y serial.

I just bought a Y serial 16710, and the papers are dated 2003.

From my understanding the Y series should date 2002-2004. 2001 should be K series.
