Icon4 Incoming !!! My Grail Your Grail Everyone's Grail

I would like to first off thank a few people for their help and guidance, especially davidsw, Ron, Alfred, and most importantly Sohail from AIS for putting up with me and being so patient.

Sohail was kind enough to help me with my upgrade and I recommend him without reservation.

I ended up not adding an additional TT but getting the YG blue C sub.

I hope to pass on the watch one day.

Here is my question. Does anyone wear a YG as a daily here? Does it withstand the same amount of abuse as the 904 sx steel? I'm an attorney so I don't do much roughing but still. Somehow my TT sub in macro shots show some abuse.

What are your thoughts on it being a daily wearer? I do not care about the flash. I wanted to be very flashy. I don't mind that at all.

I dont but neil or racer or kilyung do. Many more. It will hold up. But it is a little softer than ss.

My first trade was with SOHais- my DSSD for a sparkling GMT2 Pepsi. He really walked me, a noob, through valuations and got me just what I wanted: my grail watch.

PM like white or yellow gold will never stand up to wear like stainless steel. And Rolex’s 904L stainless is VERY tough. I don’t have any gold watches, preferring the timeless look of SS. Depending on what you do day to day, YG should hold up well but it will scratch/gouge way more easily.

I’ve worn a yellow gold DayDate for about 34 years. The current one was bought in the early 90s. Both worn daily. I think my yellow gold watch wears better than my stainless watches. The scratches just don’t seem to be as apparent. Year your new beauty and .enjoy it.

SS is definitely stronger. However, whenever I wear my TT GMT, I'm a bit more conscious of it as to prevent it from banging against something or scratching it up. Yes, I'm a bit anal...hehehe

Congrats...that's a great watch!

Sure you can wear it as a daily. As a lawyer, I wouldn't think your duties would be too hard on it...now if you were trimming trees or working on large engines, that's a different story...

Seriously, gold holds up very well.

Thanks man...I'm going to try to wear it more often than not. I bang my hand around a lot at my desk. You would be surprised.

I can't believe RSC charges 950 to refinish and clean this model.

For magnificent refinishing/servicing I would suggest Official Time Watch. Simply superb and 3 week turnaround tops!

I find the times gold marks but SS doesn't from a bump are very few so bracelet marks don't make much difference to me, as you know. Rolexes are my daily/beater watch and fine for an office, I'm more precious with my PP and APs, which I want looking near perfect. Do you have any pics?

Most live with the wear on PM Rolexes. They aren't as hard as the stainless ones with gold likely being the softest metal used by Rolex. Macro shots are one thing but in normal use few will notice micro scratches. What you will notice is the heft of the gold on the wrist.

Now you mentioned that your an attorney so how can you so flagrantly ignore the laws of the land here. "Without a picture it didn't happen." So get on the right side of the law and post a photo or three!!!!

Also, I too just finished dealing with Aamir and I must say he was excellent to work with so on this I heartily concur!!!

No problem wearing it daily. Especially being that you don't mind a little flash. It'll last generations. Congrats in advance! I'm sure Monday can't come soon enough!

Macro shots shows some abuse? Lol any watch you wear new from the ad to home will show abuse from macro shots.
Is this for real. All metal will get scratched. More or less ... it's not 24 Kt so it won't be night and day. Roughing it ... is ok
