I love my PAM 90, but is it generally not liked?

I adore my 90... it has the right amount of information on it's dial for me. It's not a sandwich but I think that's okay. It's beautiful. Even though I generally wear clothes at work that can nearly contain the watch, after meetings I am nearly always stopped by someone asking to see it, they are considering one for themselves, etc.

I don't see much interest in the 90 on this forum... or at least don't see it mentioned very much. Is it because it's considered entry-level, or because it's old news anymore, or something else?

Just curious. Again, I LOVE my PAM and always will.

I think the most important thing is that you love it. Others will say whatever they want no matter what. For me myself, the PAM that I like is base or marina type dial and manual wind. But for others, complications and movement may be very important... so I can't sum up the general consensus here, but if you LOVE it, that what counts.

differest strokes for different folks. thankfully, not everyone has the same taste and thankfully PAM makes a wide range.

so long as you love it don't worry about any general opinion, i quite like the 312 & especially the 382 but i imagine others may dislike the bronze finish..each to their own

The kudos are generally most reserved for the more simplistic dials. Obviously the 90 doesn't fit into this category.

Personally, I'm a fan of the 90. Actually, when I went to the AD a year and a half ago to get my PAM I walked in wanting a 90. Turns out they had just sold it and only had a 104 left so that's what I went with. I do love the PR on the 90 and think it would be very useful..especially since I don't wear it every day.

Also, post up some pics!

I've always liked it. I find it to be one of the more interesting PAMs.

I want to echo what has already been said...it is all about the owner's taste. I have found that every owner (PAM, ROLEX, ect.) has an opinion about what they like. And we see the different companies making different models for different tastes.

With the 90, the usual discussion points are the painted dial, non- in house movement, cyclops, and power reserve. It all comes down to individual taste.

However, it is agreed that the 90 is a solid unmistakable Panerai watch.

I'm shopping for a PAM, and even with the new inhouse movements and 1,000 different panerai models, SE's, LE's, etc now made - I keep going back to the 90 and 347.

But I agree, shopping around for one, there is not a lot of love for that model.

My buddy has one, in fact, that's sort of the one that made me go browsing online to find out more about them. I'm sure the people who own one it love it. When you're paying what I consider a lot of money for a watch, people tend to (and should) scrutinize everything about it before pulling the trigger. So if you bought it, it means you really thought about it and it sang to you.
