I have made no secret of the fact that I like Omega watches.

I find them to be very robust, exceptionally well built, attractive and comfortable.

I have a pretty nice, but modest, Omega collection going right now.

I have also made no secret of the fact that I am looking for the perfect watch. I realize it is not necessarily realistic.

But I am thinking the Seamaster might be exactly what I have been looking for. Simple, clean, swim proof, attractive, comfortable and lume that lasts all night.

Yet even with all that, the blue was kind of getting to me. I love the color, but it can be a lot every day. So I picked up the black as well. I put the adjustable clasp on both and my speedy too.

I will actually put the blue one on a black rubber with deployment. But I wanted to have the adjustable clasp for when I do put it back on steel.

I love the fact that these watches are all relatively reasonable in terms of price as well.

And you know, it amazes me that the adjustable clasp is also so relatively realistic in terms of pricing.

Just over $100 to add incredible comfort adjustments. Yeah, I am loving this brand.

Despite some marketing setbacks and distribution problems, I am with you Seth/superdog all the way. The brand has come up with some compelling pieces over the years that's stood the test of time.....and there is something to be said about the way they try to have something for everyone.

The SMP is a great choice.....very comfortable and wears easy on the wrist for any occasion. I personally own 6 of them but my preference has always been the older ones with the waves. The new ones wear just as comfortable if not more like you said with the adjustable bracelet and the latest revision of the 2500 movement has proven to be bombproof. Congrats on some fine choices again....I LOVE the way they contrast the red font Seamaster with the brilliant dials.

Amen. The black is very classy and classic.

I bought an orange dial Seamaster PO some years back, loved it for a while, but eventually came to feel it was too flamboyant. I ended up getting the orange bezel replaced with a black one and it totally transformed the watch.

The Seamaster the OP originally posted looks less bulky than my older model. Geez, am I gonna have to take another look at the Seamaster line?? I thought I was over it and onto Speedmasters. Every time I narrow my choices down, something comes along and throws a monkey wrench into the whole thing.

I own the blue and I find the bracelets incredibly comfortable I really need to lay my hands on that new clasp I thought they were selling for $200.

Seth, I think you am I are on the same wavelength. I still have my eye on a moonwatch and was looking at the seamaster as well. I decided to start with a PO 43.5 for now, but I am planning on more future omegas. Good build, can be bought at good prices, great style and love the comfort of the adjustable clasps.

I also find the full size 1120/2500 powered SMP series are well designed . They look nice and generally wear comfortably on the wrist.

I go back and forth between them. I like them both a lot. But black is certainly more versatile.

I think it is the balance of this watch. The profile itself it really thin and the watch as a package just wears so incredibly well. I would def be looking at this again.

Actually me, too.

I think a lot of the love for the sub is the overall hype about Rolex.

And clearly the sub is a great watch. But so is the SMP.

For me, I find the SMP to be better. It fits better, is less bulky, has nicely curved lugs and really provides all of the exact same functions of a sub. The build quality is just as good as well.

The only difference might be that the SMP is not an in-house movement. That means nothing to me. If it tells the proper time, I am all for it no matter where the movement comes from.

And oh yeah, I have the blue and the black SMP for just about the same price as a date sub.

The new 43mm is a great watch. I am glad they shrunk it just a bit.

The one that I paid for came out to around $125 with tax. The other two were thrown into the deal.

I think this is where Omega really nails it - the balance between form and function. Same with the Speedmaster line, my new obsession. I look at watches first and foremost as tools. But tools don't have to be without style. Dependable, durable, usable, but with elegance.

I won't be home for a week to take pictures but I have owned an aquatera with white dial and blue hands and markers, in a full stainless watch for about 7 years now. I've had the roter wheel stick a few times even after service. It's been a hard toss up between it and my green milgauss to pick a favorite everyday watch.

I just got my previously filthy milgauss back from Rolex from them replacing the scratched crystal and it looks brand new. By far the best service they have ever done but at 1500 bucks it should be good!!
