The yellow gold submariner and my two tone datejust 41

Delayed post, but before COVID-19 I had the opportunity to try on the fantastic gold submariner at an AD. It’s a real beauty, and the blue dial is truly mesmerizing. I do wonder what it would be like if the lugs were all polished. In any case, strong contender as a special occasion companion to my DJ one day down the line, though we shall see - lots of time to consider options.

Anyways, thought I’d post a side-by-side of my DJ 41 and the gold sub for anyone interested in size/aesthetic comparison. Side by side with the gold sub, the TT DJ seems to hold its own pretty well IMO and not be overwhelmed by the sub. Perhaps a natural friendship one day lol.

The YG Submariner is a very cool watch and the gold and the blue really pop.

I think the gold sub does overpower it

But just very slightly

And yes that would be a great duo!

A DJ is certainly nice. But a Submariner in solid 18K is sublime! I moved all my pieces for this one and only. Absolutely no regrets. This is a grail piece to last a lifetime.

Gold Sub is one amazing watch! I prefer the black/YG combo, but that blue is mesmerizing! Let us know what you decide

I have that DJ 41 exact combo and it’s great. Good daily wearer.

If money was no object, I would say YG Sub FTW.

Sub is loud but not over the top, having more polished parts would be too much and a move into old Breitling territory. Highly recommend it.

I actually love both of those models. I prefer the gold sub with blue sunburst dial to the DJ but that DJ is a classic as well

Sub and DJ41 makes a great duo.....one for formal(classic) occasions and one for casual(sports) occasions

I have the same pair but in different metal:

I prefer the gold sub but I went with black. Love that DJ combo as well, I would take it in 36 mm for dress duty.
