Blue Pt 44mm Offshore
Did I miss something? Is the blue Pt 44mm discontinued?

About time? This is one of the 1st Gen 44mm ROO and the rest have all been discontinued or replaced with newer versions.

Guess it is discontinued and agree it’s about time. Pretty sure it was the first and still think only Pt ROO that wasn’t an LE. I do remember it’s original retail was around $100k and AP had a price decrease (while cutting AD margin) and it upset some collectors but it was perfect timing for me to get one. Edit: yep came out in 2012 and original retail was $108k https://youtu.be/c0ou_YM2X5M |

Still a bit strange to then release a blue dial in SS, why not just update that to Plat with normal and camo strap options. The yellow flecked camo strap is growing on me, think it might just work with the RG.

I was told the new SS Blue Ceramic blue dial is not the same as the one on the Pt44. The Pt44 is apparently a darker shade of blue. Have to see actual to be sure.

Agree. Would love the blue ceramic on the Pt. Ordered the blue camo strap yesterday. We'll see how it looks on the Pt.

This is still my favourite ‘sensibly priced’ AP even after 2.5 years of wearing nearly every day.

What strap do you currently use? I have the blue croc & blue rubber, but can’t figure out how to switch out without having to buy another platinum tang buckle.
Please post pictures! Thanks! |

Its currently on the blue Schumi strap but its a very plastic feeling rubber. I've never worn it on the croc strap. The tang buckle has a spring bar you need to remove to disassemble it. You can pull back the strap and remove it with a spring bar tool or screw driver. Very easy to do once you get the hang of it. I wouldn't want to buy another Pt tang buckle...that has to be $$$$$$$. I'll post pics as soon as I have time to change the strap this weekend.

Strap quality is among the best I’ve had with AP. I do find it strange that rubber staps vary so much from model to model. Color match isn’t perfect but the light in my house doesn’t help and since CA is flooded from all the rain I can’t get any natural light pics. I suck at photography but I’ll try to get better pics this weekend.

Cool, thanks for uploading. I need to take a look at my buckle as per your earlier thread.
