I do agree with you, but the bright direct light in the AD made it look more pronounced than it really is. The photo of the black no-date is more representative of what it looks like.

Just can't dissociate that 'asphalt' effect from the NTH Nacken dial finish. Maybe it looks better in person. Overall not a fan of the Polaris range.
