Hi All.

I have (for unknown reasons) been considering adding said watch to my collection. I know little to nothing about the Mechanical models, but I know what I like when I see one... Here are some criteria. Can folks comment on specific models to seek out / places to learn more (apart from JLC's website) etc?

Steel
Good fit for a 6.5" Wrist
Blue hands - a nice to have
Prefer Arabic numerals
Subsidiary seconds - a nice to have
Movement - not quartz

Are you close to a boutique? I went a few months ago and was surprisingly disappointed by the new blue dial, which looks purple under artificial lighting (like the Rolex BLRO models) - I know you are looking blue hands but still.

I think you're probably looking for a watch with the 822 movement, or are we looking for older models like the 976, or for an automatic/complication etc?

Search for Reverso reviews on YouTube. There are many very informative videos. JLC changed the size of any given model several through the years, so familiarize yourself with all the models.

Your information indicates a Grande Taille case size (26 x 42), which is available in several configurations and metals. Have a look at the reference 270.8.62, it might be what you’re looking for.

The DuoFace may be another option for your requirements, reference 270.8.54

If you like a larger watch, look for a Grande 976 (39 x 48.5) reference 273.8.04.

Will definitely search you tube as well...hoping to hear of personal experience here. Any wrist shots appreciated.

I will be in Las Vegas this summer, so the JLC boutique is on my list. Won’t be too many Pepsi’s and Black Bays to fondle, so I’ll mix it up and drag my non WIS friends along.

I am fine with older models - but my main criteria is fit and - no quartz. Some of the sub seconds look a bit rough, so I may even break my rule about no seconds hand.

The current production Reverso Classic Medium Small Seconds or the Reverso Classic Medium Duoface Small Seconds would fit your criteria perfectly. The former is great if you want to engrave the back while the latter is perfect if you want "two watches in one". I have the latter and it's a wonderful watch that wears perfectly on my 6.7" wrist. These watches represent tremendous values, in my opinion, and will always be in style.

I have and enjoy the Duoface small seconds large. I have a 6.5 wrist and I like the fit. Hit the stores and try them on to see what you like.

Not disagreeing with Justindo on medium vs. large. Go to the dealer, try them on and see how they sit on your wrist. YMMV.

Reverso’s are known to fit undulant so I’d check them out. Once decided, a Classic Small Seconds (Duoface if you want maximum use of the reverse capability) sounds like what you want and comes in a variety of sizes!

If you search for Reverso on Youtube, it wouldn't be long before you stumble on Archie's reviews. Having seen a few, they are quite, quite, quite unique.

I think it really depends on what you like and what looks good on your wrist. The larger size looks good on my wrist too but it takes up most of it due to the larger lugs. The larger size is definitely more of a contemporary look, which is not what I was really going for. I will say the original size of the Reverso, which has no second hand and is now basically marketed toward women, looks too small on me, despite me having a small to average wrist. I just can't seem to get comfortable with a 30-34mm round dress watch, which is why I'm most comfortable in the 36-38mm range for dress pieces and 36-42 for sport pieces.
