incoming Ball watch

So, being a watch enthusiast, I had wanted to someday get a watch made by the Ball watch company. Ball watch has a great story as they were the official watch if the ameri an railroad in the 1800s. Good timekeeping was necessary for conductors and engineers to stop trains from crashing as happened all to often in the early days of railroad transportstion.

I finally ordered a limited edition automatic Ball watch with radioactive gas tubes on the hour markers and hands. Those tubes are lit blue and should stay lit for somewhere between 10 and 25 years before needing replacement. I ordered the watch in December and it just arrived today, # 47 out of 1000. I am very happy with the outstanding build quality. The hour markers and hands have a blue glow.
Here is the link to the history of Ball watch. It is a preet good read. https://www.ballwatch.com/global/1/company/history.html

My Fireman II is a favourite.

A Ball is a great choice.

I am very pleased with my Engineer Legend III. It seems to be solid and is also anti magnetic. It houses an ETA movement that Ball customizes. The dual deployment clasp is comfortable. I just wish the bracelet was a bit bigger out of the box as it is snug on my wrist and in this Florida heat, will get very tight. I did call Ball USA for extra links. They will send two complimentary links but are waiting for them to arrive from Ball Switzerland. So I may have to limit wearing my watch to the air conditioning for now.
The blue lume is OK at night and really looks about as bright as a watch with regular lume would look like a few minutes after coming out of bright light. It is a steady blue hue. If you want brighter, go for the green tubes.

Thanks everyone and thanks for posting pics of your Ball watches. For those that are on the fence, these are great watches. The preorder on Facebook or on the ball site is a great savings. Plus, I have to say my customer service experience was great! Malika in Switzerland answered every email and even asked for my number so she could call me. Ball Switzerland and Ball USA, thank you for all your help.

One thing, if you have a large wrist, tell them how large you need the bracelet so they can be sure it is large enough before sending your watch out for delivery.
