Any VC Overseas 4500V owners with 6.5" wrists?
I have been eyeing the VC Overseas 4500V for a while but can't help to think it will be too big for my wrist, haven't had a chance to try yet.
Do/did anyone own this watch? What is your opinion on the fit for a 6.5" fairly flat wrist? The AP RO 41mm is way to big for me as the lugs flair out, 15300 was okish. How does the 4500V wear in comparison? The only watches in this category that seems fitted for a smaller wrist is the Patek 5711/12 but they are priced out of my budget. |

Sorry, I don't have a 4500V but I have tried it on many times. It is too big for someone with 6.5" wrists IMO. If the 15400 is too big, it is likely this one will be too big too.
An alternative is the 15202 - the perfect AP RO IMO. An even better fit of course is the 5711/5712, but as you say, not so easy to get one. The 5712 is one of the most perfect fitting watches I've ever had for my meagre wrists. |

Go try it on for yourself, rather than rely on others to tell you what may or may not fit.
The only person for which fitment matters is the wearer of it. |

I tend to agree 6.5 and not flat will be too big, mine are around 7 inches and it does feel a little on the big side, the 2nd gen does wear slightly bigger than the 3rd gen tho.

Thanks for the comments. I went to try it on today and as many of you have discovered already, it is just too big for a 6.5" wrist.
I really wanted to like it! Vacheron is a favourite brand and the Overseas with in-house movement, Geneva-seal finishing and simple time/date function on nice steel bracelet AND leather/rubber straps seems perfect in theory. It would have been a definite buy if it came in a 39mm size and 2mm thinner at the same price point. A very nice feature of the OC bracelet is that it can be extended 2x2mm by pulling out the links closest to clasp. Why did others not think of that, for example on the Day Date this would have been useful. Tom, read about your quest for the 5712, seems like it was worth the wait! |
