Seeking opinions on the PAM 424
Sharp looking watch. I've heard some opine they preferred the gold hands to the blue of the special edition version. If I recall correctly, it's got a domed crystal, in-house manual wind with display back. Seemed like there was a general sentiment that Panerai had maybe jumped the shark a bit with it's faux lume, vintage patina offerings at the last SIHH. Thoughts? My other quandry is that with a wrist measuring about 6.8 cm, I worry about watches such as this wearing too big. I feel like the 44 mm PAM feels just right. I know it may not be DNA, but it would be nice if some of these offering were in 44 mm. Help!!!

Faux patina - I can live with
Logo - I can live with Date - hork I did recently try on a 425 and was a little surprised how thick it was. It should be same thickness as 424 I think. I have a 6.5" wrist and I would wear it, the 425 that is. Also, I hope you meant 16.8 cm and not 6.8 cm, that would be like 2.5 inches!

Hah!! Sorry. Inches. Everything I do in my work is metric, but still clinging to those olds conventions. Wondered about the date compliation and California dial. Don't recall seeing that many.

Wrists are all different as is people's perceptions of how watches fit them. If you are questioning it for yourself, then chances are it will be too big. I've generally seen few folks with 7+inch wrists complain about the size, but those with sub 7 inch (I am one of) wrists are hit or miss --- works for some and not others.

I like it a lot (as I like dates). I think it's a great looking watch.
But 448 is going to be the one for me because its boutique only. But the date thing is not a deal killer for me. Grab it-- thing it's a looker. |

I don't like the date and I'm still not sure about the logo on the 424. I absolutely love the 425.
