I am debating a DJ ll 116300 or a Pam 048? Which one should I buy and why?

The DJII....no brainer. There are tons of better Panerai models than the Pam 48.....

Whatever you decide, good luck and

DJ II. The 048 wouldn't be my choice for a PAM.

Let me clarify the reason I chose the PAM 048 40mm because of my 6 1/4in. wrist, the 44mm wil be too big for me,

Good reason. But Panerai doesn't offer you good choice.

My wrist is slightly larger than yours, but I think the standard Panerai is too big for it. I wore it one day and it felt weird. It retired to the sock drawer.

I was excited when the PAM 048 was introduced. At last, a Panerai that fits me. I tried every way to justify buying it, but it doesn't have the features I want.

I was drawn to Panerai by its simplicity and I still want that. When Panerai offers the basic watch in 40 mm I will be interested. If you are not crazy about the PAM 048 you should wait. Don't buy that model just because it's the only Panerai that fits.

I am on Rolex Forum because I am looking for a vintage Rolex--around 40 mm. That's the size I feel comfortable with.

Among the things I like about this forum is the generosity and candor of its participants. I cannot imagine another brand forum that would recommend the "other" brand.

Good luck and have fun with this.

There is a door number 3 and 4. If you want a Pam, instead of the 48, wait a little and try the new 392. It is 42 mm. There is also a 42 mm Radiomir - I think it is the 337.

Otherwise DJ all day.

The DJ II without a doubt - but wait for the SS white dial with romans.
It will be a killer.

If you want a Pam - go for a used Radiomir 231 for just a few more $$$'s.

DJII.
Will be a whole different story if you compared it with a PAM351,210 or 390

It's not my thread, but thanks, Greg, for this information. I had been out of the Panerai loop for around 10 years until 2 friends who didn't even care about watches bought them and asked my opinion. A 42 mm PAM might fit me.

never get a pam smaller than 44 mm....

people in fact are getting rid of their 44s and trading in for the 47s!

You are in a Rolex forum, so of course its going to slant towards that watch. Go with the DJ if you want something classic that will be good forever. The Pam is pretty stylish and contemporary looking. I've seen it on guys and really think it looks great, but not sure if I would like it forever kind of great.

Pity pity! Fact is the bigger the Pam the better it "sits" on your wrist. Small wrists tend to be flat, not round, so we're blessed, not cursed, coz the Pam backside sits comfortably!

But amongst these two, the Rolex ofcourse (while I'm not even much of a rolex person!) but there are certainly nicer Pams!
