Question about shipping from private party/eBay

Hi,

I won an eBay auction on a Tudor Ranger! I "bought the seller" so I feel comfortable with the transaction.

I have insisted he ship via registered USPS, fully insured (after reading threads here about shipping and insurance). He agrees.

To further protect me, should I pay Amex via Ebay, or Amex via Paypal? I know there will be additional fees, but I'm fine to pay those for peace of mind.

Thank you.

Pay via PayPal using CC. That gives you three levels of protection. 1) eBay, 2) PayPal, and 3) the credit card company if things don't work out. I've actually had to use all three at one point due to an unscrupulous seller. eBay sided with the seller, as did Paypal (I believe it was a timing issue). Finally the credit card company came through. In the short run the eBayer was removed from eBay. eBay demanded I get a repair estimate on the watch within a week; pretty comical or lose.

Thank you for your advice. I'm sorry you had to go through that, but I'm glad you did so I won't have to.

I'm glad it worked out for you

Good deal, Congrats l love my Ranger too. That's good advice, always go through pay pal when buying on ebay.

Pretty sure ebay policy does not allow surcharges for credit card transactions.
