312 opinions please
Hi as a newcomer here I am looking at a 312.
Can people please let me know if there are any significant differences between the M and N series...apart from the year of manufacture... Thanks |

I read the dial on the N series is slightly grayer than the black dial on the M series. Also the back bezel is not polished on the N series. Details, details.

Thank you for the informative responses!
I tried on the N series over the weekend at my AD. I really liked how the color of the dial really changed in the light. Will this still be the case to some degree with the M series? And ultimately the issue is- if you had two mint 312's, an M and N series would you expect to pay a different amount for either? Thanks |

Thanks for the helpful advice.
I have also had some feedback from some Panerai dealers and found the O series are available, that the warranty goes with the watch, so that if I sell it after six months, then the buyer has 18 months left, and there is no change from N to O series. thanks again |

Yes, the warranty is international so no worries there They wil tell you that the model is in high demand, difficult to get, etc, but it does not hurt to negotiate... even if to get an extra strap. The current economy means that even some very popular models (any brand) are not flying out of the AD as once they might have...

312 is entry with brown face and the much desired gold hands
BUT in my humble opinion there are much better pams out there the case itself is not as desirable as the 1950s case....have a look and compare good luck |

Hi ryanluo23,
I think you may be confusing the 312 with another model 312 is black faced with silver hands in a 1950's case |

You are either describing the the 390, or the 351 (which is a titanium 1950 case model)

And the 351 is a great watch. Not as top heavy and much lighter.

Thank you Clive
wise words- that is the impression that I also had. The chap at the boutique in Vienna offered to hold a 320 for me until I get there- which is well over a month away. What a great offer- he even sent me a photo of the back of the watch with the serial number. I think I will ask for an extra strap and for him to send the box back to Australia for me. It can't hurt... Quote:

Yes I would hope the 312 is not considered entry model!
It is a beautiful watch. The brown face and gold hands may well be a 351; as described this is 1950's case. it is also a bit more that the 312. But the watch that is being held for me is a 320. Must say I love it, and have been finding it very hard to choose between the three (312, 320, 351). Good to see some Aussies on board here |

The 320 is a very nice watch - it would be my pick over the 312 and 351
Sounds like you will have an especially enjoyable trip Jeremy
