Incoming .... PM Content.

In my opinion....which WILL be controversial. The White Gold Daytona on full bracelet 116509 has to be the best value for money Rolex out there ???

There’s only a few grand difference on the grey market between WG & SS and the WG wipes the floor with SS.

I feel fully qualified to state this as I’ve owned 7 steel Daytona’s including both black and white ceramic, and this is my 3rd white gold.

Look at the extra size of a PM Daytona over a SS, that plus the weight = no contest.

Plus....versus platinum. Gold is trading higher than platinum however. Gold is only 75% pure (though made up with platinum and palladium etc), whereas platinum is 95% pure.

Also, platinum weighs around 285g v WG at 222g but on the whole, White Gold is far better value for money for me.

I know I’m going on but hey ho, it’s my new one and only Rolex.

I’m not a Daytona fan, but that watch could turn me. Easily.

That's my watch.....wearing it as I type. Still love it after 18 months. Mind you, your bezel is in better shape. Not that it matters.

I like it

This replace the panda?

Good choice....

Enjoy

Fwiw, re about your arum experience...

I too have been disconnected from any further aurum rolex supply.... Quite unprofessionally and unceremoniously .... without even notifying me of the decision until I next called the dealer, where upon I also was informed : that the dealer too, had lost their franchise/affiliations with Rolex too...

I believe the dealer had made a few indescretions that mother ship didn't approve of, but for me & my "justification" for being punitively cut off - the long and short of it seems to be due to :

- (I can't believe it still...) -

Buying a ss steel Daytona 116500 (Which I still have ) and waited over a year to receive - then, because I tried to buy another (different colour) elsewhere (still Aurum) - i was deemed to be "outside of a policy" I knew nothing about... On then making an "informative/educational" post here of this experience, earlier this year, I was cut off

.... Incredulous...

I don't know if it makes me value my current Daytona more, or if it's actually bred contempt

No, the panda went when I got the call for the GMT Pepsi, I then got the SS Daytona but I sold them as I really missed the white gold Daytona.

I think the white gold on OF offers better value - but that’s not to say yours is not a stunning watch, because it most certainly is.

Interesting comment.....there are far more grams of gold in the 116509 than the 116519 and they go for similar money used, so value for money must be the 116509?

I’m saying value for money not which do you personally prefer??

You mean you finally flipped enough hot Watches to pay for a WG Daytona?

Not at all...this is the 3rd White Gold Daytona I’ve owned.

Plus I’ve owned the white gold Pepsi in the past, it’s just settling on the right watch for me.

That’s fair, if looking at used prices, I was looking at new prices. So yep, think I agree.
