It is hard to call a $37K white gold watch "best value" :-)

I do think it is one heck of a reference, Rolex's white gold metal has a warmth to it that 904L stainless steel doesn't, it ages very well and develops a bit of patina vs just scratches. I'm a big fan and I have been thinking of the Panda dial one myself. Having said all of that, I hardly call is a "best value"...

Nothing like the “feel” of a PM piece. Congrats, that’s a beautiful Daytona.

Cheers and I see your point, but I mean in relation to the high used prices of the SS Daytona on the secondary market and the crazy high platona price(s).

Congrats and great move! My favorite current Daytona other than the one I own.

I completely agree that the "value" proposition is very strong on this one when looking at either market prices for new or used vs. WG OysterFlex Daytonas or SS Daytonas. Great move.

I agree 100%. I'd take this over a ceramic SS Daytona at current secondary market prices. Watch is very nice congrats.

Love everything about this, have only seen one in person and had it on my wrist only briefly last year, IMO among the best of the current line up.

The slightly larger case of the WG in relation to the bezel makes this watch perfect. Huge congrats

Gary, when I saw your name and the title to the thread.....I knew I had to open it. I’ve seen your journey over time, and I knew this would be a good one. It did not disappoint.

I totally follow your line of thinking. I’ve honestly thought about picking up a pre-owned WG Daytona for the same reasons. Couple questions though.....why do you think that the other WG Daytonas didn’t stick? Is this one a keeper? It just seems like you are unsettled and can’t find the piece that is “just right”. Then again, maybe you are just a serial flipper and enjoy the chase.....which is fine also.

I was settled on the last Panda i owned, then I got the call for the GMT pepsi in SS in July, which was right in the middle of me purchasing a Spanish villa.

I therefore sold the WG Panda, bought the SS Pepsi and bought a SS Daytona and sold both. From the sale of these 2, I bought my wife a brand new 31mm Datejust and myself this new WG Daytona, as the White Gold Daytona is exactly where i want to be, so all in all, it was a great bit of business.

Sounds like you made some good decisions.......one of which included a Rolex for your wife which is NEVER a bad idea IMHO. Makes perfect sense. Here’s to you enjoying this one for a long time.

I didn't realize that the case was a different size - is that an accurate statement?

I've got an incoming 116519 myself, but on a strap.

Yes, on the pm models, the right lugs are the same size as the left lugs. On the Yellow gold on full bracelet, two tone and SS, the lugs are asymmetric....here you are.
