Ref 116200 and 116234 discontinued next year?

One thing I found interesting that my AD told me this week is that the lead time if I had ordered the Datejust 36 (116200 or 116234) would be 4 months or more, putting it out past baselworld 2019. My AD called Rolex to get that delivery quote and were surprised at the lead time on a simple Datejust. Their suspicion is that the 116200 and 116234 will be replaced with 126200 and 126234 models respectively, just as the 116233 was replaced with the 126233 last year.

One of the reasons I pulled the trigger on their current stock is because I love the super jubilee bracelet with the hidden crown clasp and as you all may recall the 126233 no longer has that bracelet. It’s jubilee now has the oyster clasp just like the Datejust 41 which I find much less pleasing.

Thoughts??

Andrew

Yes, it’s no longer on Rolex website and my AD can’t order it. 126233 replaced it.

Congratulations on your 116234. I am currently looking at getting a 116200 and I am thinking that next year it will be replaced by the 126200. I had a 126300, but felt that it wore a little big. It looks like I should get a hold of my AD right away. Thanks for the info and again, Congratulations.

Do you know what’s the difference between the old 116234 and new 126234? Other than the super Jubilee bracelet?
