MontBlanc Watch

As I’ve been waiting not so patiently for a couple of watches to come in, I have seen the MontBlanc 1858 Iced Sea. I’ve only seen the rubber strap version, but I like it for the price. Anyone else see this? I have no experience with them as a watchmaker at all. Thoughts?

Few months ago my friend bought Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph. I saw it and this is really good watch. For the price you’re getting a lot of watch with very nice look in my opinion. It doesn’t look cheap or like fashion watch.

I have started looking more into this brand, they have an interesting history though some of their designs leave me cold

The Minerva movement inside Montblanc models has a strong history. This newest calibre MB M16.29 might be a great one.

The casework and 1858 model line-up is a Richemont design constrained marketing strategy to fit within their other brands.

The main concern to me would be the longevity of future parts supply if Richemont makes more branding changes over time.

The Montblanc pens carryover a brand identity with a long history of performing well. Just don’t know if the same name will carry forward in horology.

For now, great value IMHO. But not a lifetime keeper perhaps.

That was pretty much my thought. Something I would wear for sure, but I don’t plan to be a pass down for generations watch.

I’m now finding out that they are almost impossible to find also!
