another fake daytona on ebay Item number: 190188164969

looks totally fake....plus back says 116520....hmmm SS Ref # on a white gold face? come on, at least put the correct REF# on your fakes

seller claims its stainless....yeah maybe its stainless, but definately not a 116520 SS Daytona

From the untrained eye, it looks like a very good fake. But look at the papers in the third picture. Clearly fake.

PS - If it is fake the seller will get destroyed, since he stated in the first sentence that it is an authentic piece.

$3,500 for a $25,000 watch must seem like a bargain to the winning bidder.

$3,500 for a $150 watch, not so much.

You can contact Ebay users directly so I have relayed a messaged through a seller who has recently sold him an item. That is allowed.

If anyone has time can you point out what looks fake on this watch. It looks good to me but I'm not an expert. I just started looking at rolex watches 2 months ago. Thanks goodness I bought from an AD.

Another Fake Daytona

I just bought a WG Daytona and sitting here comparing the Numbers the size width etc is not quite correct.
The sub dials are not correct and the markers at 3 6 & 9 are too large.

the most obvious are the incorrect ref # on the green sticker, it has the ref # of a SS daytona when the face is a replica of the WG/silver dial daytona....incorrect ref# is super easy

WG are ref# 116509, not 116520

Let's hope we don't soon get a newbie posting "I just bought this Daytona on Ebay is it real?"

Wouldn't that be ironic?

Now that would be ironic!

Or the seller thinks it's fake, and it turns out to be real... That would be ironic.

It's possible, of course.

It is also possible that the seller could have found the watch in the bottom of a cornflake packet.

Unlikely, but possible.

The seller of that FAKE, said , and I quote:

"I am selling a 100% Genuine Authentic Gorgeous and Rare 2005 Rolex Daytona that I purchased from an authorized Rolex Dealer!!! "

(portions of the italic and bold print are mine)

I certainly doubt he/she/it is not aware it's a FAKE, A FRAUD, A REPLICA..........

Well, contacted the buyer today and apparently the seller is NOT aware he owns a fake!
The buyer asked me how I could tell! WOW! He also said the seller will take it to the jeweler of his choice to verify authenticity! . Is it me or are we getting more stupid here in the states?

You contacted the buyer; and the seller is not aware its fake?

The buyer I can see not knowing, but the seller? He claims to have bought it from an A.D./ do A.D.'s sell fakes?

Don't tell J.J. about this................it might 'cause him to stop buying A.D. only , he might come over to the GREY SIDE.

Basically I emailed him from ebay. I ebay a lot. I told him it was a fake. This morning he emailed me back and said I was the second person to tell him. Then he asks how could I tell? I say for starters the papers! He contacts the seller and the seller says he will take it to a jeweler to verify it's real!
Now I'm new at this rolex stuff-and I could tell- and I'm not real smart! ;)

I contacted the buyer via high bidder. He said the seller DOES think it's real. I was the second person to contact him about the fake. The seller has a 100% rating. And per his description it really sounds like he is clueless!

With a 100% rating the seller is not the only one that is clueless. Come on guys, if you don't tell the buyers will be thrilled. What is the difference an Eta Daytona is an Eta Daytona.
