Rolex Parts Only

Seller elli897

I bought this watch from the pawn broker auction, thinking i can restore it, but after counting the cost for restoring it, I decided to sell it to someone who needed some parts for the same size. It's a mid size day date gold dial and hands, the bezel itself is 18kt gold worth over a grand and the crown is plated I think, it need a lot of polishing on the case as it has a lot of scratched and one obvious one in the middle of the back casing, the gold index on 1-12 were missing, they must have sold them for parts. the glass look ok, it look worst on photos. it will look good if clean and polish, I don't know the parts inside the watch, but when you wind the crown the hands starts moving. It has the 18kt stamped where the bracelet is connected. It has the day and magnified date. There's no papers or box or warranty, as it came from the pawn broker. I'm only selling it for parts. Postage with insurance.

I told the seller I needed some parts and asked him if the parts of his fake one will fit my real one.

I don't expect a response.

Well, this has been some good entertainment for the evening. I was hoping to get a buy now price based on the spot price for 18 karat stainless steel and it seems I might still get the chance. Watch this space.

Cryten:

I have a real one of these but I'm not sure if the parts from your fake one will fit a real one. Do you know, or have you tried?

elli897:

Can you please send me the pictures of your real Rolex, I would like to compare,
I mysels don't have a real one. I would appreciate it if you can do that, I saw a fake Rolex
and they don't have 18kt stamped at the back of the case. Can you please send me some pictures.

Regards
Liz

Cryten:

I don't know how to send pictures, but you'll find plenty on Rolex.com.

I hadn't noticed the 18k marking, that must make it real. I've never seen a fake with that stamped on it either, only Rolex is allowed to do that. So this must be a rare 18 karat stainless steel model? 18 karat stainless steel is quite valuable, most Rolex cases are 904 which is only 4 karat stainless steel. Would you consider a buy now price?

Kind Regards,

elli897:

I have 3 people that are interested, and I want to wait till the auction is finished, I actuall paid over $500.00 for it so I was hoping to get more,
if I don't sell it I will be in touch with you. Thanks anyway.

pleasant, nonsense response to my standard message that unfortunately he had a fake.

[text]
I used to managed Angus and Coote the Duty free Dept. and we sell Rolex back then and i know
what's real and not, I won't be selling it if it's a fake one,
[end]

and several paragraphs of similar nonsense

Laughable nonsense. Clearly knows its a fake and is just trying to make a quick 500 and head for the hills. People must be able to disappear after dumping a turd on someones doorstep and slippin a cool 5 hundo's in their pocket. I couldn't sleep at night knowing I just reamed someone.
