That was my first email to him - let's meet. He claims that he is in Italy not in NYC. Otherwise it would of been easy.

Thanks, Adi.

The guy is based in Italy , that would then be acceptable not to be in N.Y. . I do find that the watch has no wear between the lugs at all , strange unless it has been on a leather strap all it's life .The case back engraving is very crisp as well . Sure some real experts on 1665 will come in soon and spot what ever my be wrong with it .

Looks highly, highly suspect. Like the others said, the fact it is stated in NY but seller claims he is in Italy is a huge red flag

X2, I don't like the look of that bezel, check the spacing around the 10

The font on the stampings between the lugs does not appear correct, especially the Stainless Steel font. The "E's" are incorrect and like those found on the fake variety. On this Seadweller, all three horizontal bars on the "E's" are the same width. On genuine watches, the center, horizontal "E" bar should be half as wide as the bar above and below it.

x2 John .... 'E's are fakero style. Case looks bad 100%.

This needs to meet the can.

case back engraving is meant for a DRSD not the GWSD. And also the seller has said that the dial and case are aftermarket products therefore not genuine.

If the watch was authentic, and the seller put an aftermarket part on the watch with the disclaimer then it is OK to sell. As long as it does not cause a trade-mark infringement. The point here is disclaimer.

The auction has ended, but this seems pretty clear to me:

"An experienced watchmaker tells that the dial and the case are aftermarket"
