Tips on selling
Hello All, I realize I can't sell a watch here until I have a minimum of 15 posts. I'm building up to that - although I choose to seek areas where I can offer genuine feedback/support/advice.
Anyhow, life circumstance have dictated I have to get liquidate some of my material things (for a good reason - we've got someone special on the way). Anyhow, I was curious - where do you think the best and safest place to sell would be? I was also thinking it'd be a wise move to take photos of telltale Rolex features (6 & 9 in the date, the crown, the clasp, etc). I sure appreciate any feedback you might have. Hope everyone is having a great 2008 so far. Mike |

mike,
congrats on your special package on its way -- you're in for a great treat. as far as selling your watches are concerned, there are plenty of rolex forums like this one -- this site is a great place to start. Take tons of pictures and describe your watches very well, are there any dings or dents?, was it serviced lately?, do you have any of the goodies (box, papers etc.)? is it keeping good time? The most important thing is to be as honest as possible. How many watches are you selling? |

Thanks for the advice. It's a relatively new 16610LV (Oct. 07), purchased new from an AD here in SoCal. It's in outstanding condition. I really "love" the watch, but that term becomes relative in times like these. I'm a bit concerned about selling on eBay (or even on the internet - although I've sold things before); however, brick and mortar shops will only offer mere fraction of the price paid. I don't expect to get the whole amount back, but it'd be foolish to sell for 50 - 60%. Thanks again for the support, advice and encouragement. Mike

I have sold a DJ and a Tutor on Ebay. Just be honest and do plenty of research....as to asking price, shipping with insurance, where you want to ship to, who to sell to (feedback rating) and when to sell (should end on a week end - night).
Good luck and dont rush, oh ya congrats!!! Welcome to the rugrat club!

Thanks for the advice - honesty is the best police. Steve, I think it's best I play by the rules and get my 15 posts before advertising in another thread. I'm getting closer.
