Received an empty package in the mail

Hi Guys,

I ordered 16710 coke insert from Ommsen, and I got this. See in pics.
One empty plastic bag insert in the envelope.
I used to bought inserts from this guy several time. No issue before.
I do not know what's the matter at this time. This time he sent me the wrong name, address and district. As if he wants to make this parcel to be lost.
Fortunately, I followed the tracking and went to several post offices to find this parcel. Finally I found it.

As I made payment via paypal, so I complain to paypal, just wait for progress.

I have removed the envelope images as they show both parties' home addresses. If you want to return the photos to this thread, with personal details obscured or partially obscured, feel free to do so.

I bought him several times. Last month I bought 2 pepsi inserts. No issue. But this time happened. Don't know the reason.

I have already sent him private message, so far no reply.
Any explanation will let TRF know.

I personally would of contacted Christian and waited for his response before making this public.

As I can't see the point in him trying to scam you over a bezel!

Is there no way the package has been tampered with during transit?

Also I do find the thread heading a little strong as nothing has been confirmed yet and you haven't even waited for the seller to get back to you given their last activitity on forum!

As stated, until you know for certain what are the facts of the situation, your thread title is CRAP. I find it very hard to believe that this particular seller, who sells a lot of parts on this forum, would "throw it all away" on a $200 insert???

Maybe some common sense on your part is in order? Another perfectly reasonable assumption/thread title could be "post worker stole my insert". Seems a bit more reasonable than "long-standing, valued seller forfeits his reputation for $50 profit".

Work it out with seller, determine who is responsible for loss/theft in transit and go from there. Geez.

While I know it's awful to get a package as OP did, I have to agree with those who have said this post was quite a bit over the top.
OP should have contacted seller and advised what happened. Can't even begin to remotely imagine a repeated seller would do this intentionally.
If things didn't work out or OP got a run around, then yeah, post this.

I have dealt with that seller before and have only good things to say. Hopefully you can work in out amicably.

I just purchased an insert from the seller based on his reputation on this board. I'm sure there's an explanation for this. I agree with the other posts. Work it out with him and give him a chance to respond before putting him on blast.

I got reply from seller.

Finally, I will wait full refund from seller to end this.

Anyway, following viewpoint and fact, not accuse seller.

1. mixed address up, absolutely can happen with anyone. But no watch part or something inside package, empty fold bag inside !

2.

Onnut Rd, -- road in southeast.
Samsennai, Phayathai -- district in middle area.
10310 -- wrong postal code.

At the risk of dog piling here, it struck me really odd that the OP put this guy (who has a good rep here) on blast before having the details. Yes, getting an envelope with nothing but a folded up plastic bag inside is very strange, but someone doing that on purpose would be even more strange. Especially for a value this small. At the risk of repeating what you hv already heard, dial it back a notch or three before publicly lashing the vendor. There's gotta be an explanation besides him trying to get over on you.

The destination address doesn't exist, I think it was made-up on purpose. In my opinion, the sender wants it to get lost.

Agreed. OP slanders seller without even talking to him first . I think not in the spirt of the TRF community.

To go as far as to call the seller a cheat, what's to say you are not trying to take advantage of the sellers address mistake and claim the package was empty?!

I'm sorry but you have gone about this all wrong and in my opinion you are trying it on!

As everyone said, this is small value thing. No reason for seller to cheat.
On the other hand. No reason for me to take advantage of address mistake and claim the package was empty as well.

I'm shocked this thread is even up still. Slandering another forum member when he is offering to replace the bezel or refund you the money no questions asked.

True but you do have more to gain from the situation

Anyway seller has offered to replace or refund which you should have originally waited for before starting this thread.

As I felt shock after opened the package, so I posted the thread. Maybe a bit too early. I really do not want to bring up a side issue to complicate the matter. I just want to show you guys what I received. No need to quarrel with anyone. I do hope this case will have a good end. Waiting for the seller refund me.

Every day is a day to learn something new.
Monday morning quarterback option could have been to in fact generate a thread to show what you received, how you were communicating with vendor and outcome.

Mistakes and all sorts of issues can and will happen but what matters is how all parties address the issue.

I don't believe in threads being deleted because of remourse or someone suggesting it but perhaps a happy medium is to amend the title to something like "received an empty package", instead of "cheating seller".

I bought several times from Christian well over 200 bucks, always perfect deals

Accusing him to write a wrong address on purpose is ridiculous.

But that's no excuse to open the post with an accusation that the address error was a deliberate mistake on the seller's part!

Maybe think before typing next time

PS. I said on fact that I got. Only him know. Even you.
