Nautilus advice please
Morning world. I am only a few days into owning the 5712 and I am amazed with it. Absolutely beautiful.
I just wanted advice on the bracelet from other owners please. I have previously favoured Rolex sports watches, the glidelock and old GMT straps are perfect as I get hot in the house and then cold when out in the English weather. I got the strap sized at the AD fairly tight thinking I was very hot, but in the house or office it still seems quite tight and the crown tends to irritate a little. Shall I get a link added back in or I believe they do a 1.5 or 1.25? It’s just the AD is a good 2 hours away so not in the doorstep. When my wrist is normal it seems perfect but if I say do a press up position with my wrist the crown digs in and it does seem to nip my hairy wrist quite a bit. Thanks in advance. Andy. It doesn’t look particularly tight, so adding a full link might be too much. I’d suggest trying a 1.5 link, or stop doing press ups in your watch

I meant it as a figure of speech I think in winter it probably is just .5 out. Maybe holidays/ heat etc a full. Thanks for that. Are the 1.5 to order From AD? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I wear mine quite tight. The bracelet is pretty comfortable though so it isnt an issue. It makes getting it off much harder though , and its not an easy bracelet to open to begin with.

I'm not an owner , but have some experience with fit on the Nauts.
It's a fairly light watch relatively speaking so I'd be inclined to add a link. I tend to go in the opposite direction and wear my watches with a bit more play in the fit. By the way, it looks smashing on you |

Beautiful watch! The 5712 is my favorite in the nautilus collection. Wear it in good health.

I usually like to be able to fit my pinky finger tightly in the underside of the bracelet so there is a bit of room. It is all preference my friend! As others have said, The 1.5 link may be just what you need. Congrats on an amazing piece

wearing it too tight cause an other problem if you flex your wrist it opens the security clasp.I think it s a perfect watch but I would replace the bracelet in a heartbeat if they would offer one with easy link .

Should be able to slide a finger tip in the space.
Add the half link.

Add the 1.5, you don't want it to be too tight, our climate changes so much.

I would add the 1.5. The bracelet is the most comfortable out of all of my watches. Congrats on the acquisition!

1.5 is the way to go. When my 5711 bracelet was adjusted it was a little loose, then when the link was removed it was too tight. The AD has to order it from HSWA it's usually not something the AD would keep in inventory. I went to HSWA to get a 1.5, now it’s just right.

My first Patek was 5712/1a... and I firmly believe that my departure from it was due to the fit. I wasn’t aware at the time of the 1.5 links otherwise i would of tried that. My advise is go back to the AD and do whatever is necessary to Assure a good fit , either they add an extra link or order 1.5 link so you don’t let a poor fit detracts you from the enjoyment of your Nautilus

Congrats on the beautiful piece! I’ve never tried the 1.5 link though I know others who have. Maybe a good option in your case. To be honest, I’ve just gone with a loose sizing on the 5712 and find it fine. I push it up over my wrist bone and it stays pretty well. I always wear Rolex tighter, but I’ve found loose on the nautilus to be comfortable and not resulting in any additional banging around or scratches.

Thanks for all of the advice. I went to the PP boutique in London on a trip this week to get it fit. Lovely place, busy with Asians buying very expensive models (Chinese/Japanese) one query tho that is messing with my OCD. The lads said it had to be in the location they had for it. See below. Could it not move one towards the clasp! I asked for it on the 12 side but she said it would be imbalanced but where it is kind of looks weird?

Why do you think it s weird?mine is on the 12o clock side i think it doesn t make any difference on which side it does inserted ,otherwise looks fine ,no worry the fit should be perfect!
